Terraria 1.4.4 has so many new things that the developers simply had to implement a new biome to put them inside of it. In this guide, we will be talking about the new biome – Aether, and its characteristics, as well as How you are able to Find it. Let’s get started.

How To Find Aether Biome – Terraria 1.4.4

After getting Terraria 1.4.4, the first step to finding the Aether biome is to start a new world. Once you have loaded into your new world, you need to figure out which side of the map their Jungle is on. Then, you should go to that side of the world, find the Ocean, and start digging.

More specifically, you will need to dig down into the Cavern layer, which is just below the Underground layer. Terraria fans will know they have reached the Cavern layer when the background changes to a darker stone and the Aether biome, which has a star background, appears inside it.

You will need to dig down around 300 blocks or something around it once you get to the Jungle biome to the left or right next to the ocean biome in your world.

Even though it might take a while for you to find the Aether in the Cavern layer, the Shimmer here you will find that there will be worth the trouble.

In fact, this liquid can be very useful, and you should definitely try it out to see what it can do. Although you should be careful when they are near the Shimmer, though, because if your characters fall into it, they will go down until they reach a cave or the Underworld. Make sure to check out our Shimmer guide to learn more about it.

You can stop this from happening by wearing a Chromatic Cloak, which is made by using Shimmer to change a Star Cloak into a Chromatic Cloak.

You should know that the Shimmer pool in the Aether biome is not infinite, but you don’t need to worry too much about it running out. This is because the Bottomless Shimmer Bucket can be used to make an unlimited amount of the liquid. But you can’t make that item until you beat Moon Lord in Terraria. Until then, the only place to get Shimmer is the Aether biome.

One last thing to say is that the Shimmer can’t do all of its changes in worlds where Moon Lord is still alive. So, if you want to see everything the liquid has to offer, you should plan to kill that Terraria boss at some point.

That’s everything you need to know about finding the Aether Biome in Terraria 1.4.4. We hope that this guide has helped you out a bit with it. Happy digging!
