All You Need To Know About Trading

It’s been a month since trading has been released in The Ability Playground. Here’s everything you need to know from rarities, kill effects, modifiers, values lists and tips!

Rarities

In Ability Playground, players can discover different item Rarities like Stock, Common, Rare, Legendary, Mythical, Exotic, and Contraband. These Rarities are the starting points for your in-game adventures.

The Stock Rarities usually hold default items that can’t be traded. Meanwhile your Common, Rares, Legendaries, Mythicals, and Exotics are typically tradable.

Contraband items, on the other hand, can be traded and come from the Black Market. The Black Market is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, where you can purchase items using credits.

Modifiers

There’s more! Among the treasure trove of item modifiers at your disposal are the options of Strange, Unusual, Strange Unusual, and Strangeified.

When you unbox a weapon, it has a 10% chance of acquiring the Strange Modifier, granting the item a kill counter. However, these recorded kills won’t display on the weapon itself.

To check the number of kills on a Strange weapon, simply hover over or inspect it in your inventory. Additionally, you can reset the counted kills.

Strange items usually get their in-game value increased by 50%. Strangeified items are similar to it but also different. If you want to track kills on a non-Strange item, you can buy a Strangeifier from the shop and apply it to eligible weapons.

This makes the weapon track kills like a Strange one, but instead of a 50% value increase, it gains around 5000% value. There are restrictions, though. You can’t use the Strangeifier on Unusuals or anything rarer than Mythical items.

Furthermore, let’s talk about Unusuals. When you open a weapon crate, there’s a 0.5% chance it’ll come with the Unusual Modifier, which adds a cool particle effect to the item. Don’t mix this up with kill effects; they’re different.

Instead of buying effects separately, they might come with the weapon. These Unusual Particle Effects increase the item’s value, but that’s up to the player’s subjection.

Now, there’s one more modifier called the Strange Unusual. When you unbox a weapon, there’s a rare 0.05% chance it’ll have this Strange Unusual Modifier. It’s a combo of the Strange and Unusual Modifiers, so the weapon gets both a particle effect and tracks kills.

Just remember, you can’t apply the Strangeifier to a weapon that already has the Unusual Modifier.

Kill Effects

Finally, Kill Tomes are items that have a four percent chance of being a bonus drop from any weapon’s crate.

Each Tome includes a kill effect that you can add to any weapon, except Stock Rarity, increasing its value by 50 of the Kill Tome’s value. You can also trade the Tome as an item, as different Tomes have varying values.

Item Values

In Ability Playground, you’ll find an officially supported Value List that neatly organizes and makes item values easily accessible.

It contains all the information you will need in knowing Item Values. And it’s one of the most helpful tools for beginners to avoid scams. It’s also a good resource to check for any recent value changes.

Other Features

Trading in Ability Playground isn’t as straightforward as it may seem due to its numerous customizable and unique features. Everyone has a trade profile, and by default, you can display one item.

However, with the Trading Plus Game Pass, you can showcase up to four items on your profile. This pass also grants you unlimited trading slots, allowing you to trade more than just eight items in a single transaction.

Moreover, Trading Plus offers additional customization options for your profile. After obtaining the game pass, you can navigate to the overview tab in your settings, where you’ll find a section called “profile settings”.

Here, you can easily set a Roblox decal as your banner by pasting its ID, which can be sourced from the Roblox library or uploaded by you.

Another valuable feature is the security pin, which serves as a safeguard against potential account breaches. Within the overview tab of your settings, you can establish a four-digit code. This code will be required for accessing your backpack or initiating trades for the first time.

This way, you can freely engage in crate openings and trading with other users while ensuring that even if your account is compromised, your inventory remains secure because the hacker won’t know your PIN. Plus, if you ever need to change your PIN, you can easily do so in the settings page.

Sending & Completing Trades

To begin trading with another user, follow these simple steps. Press the Menu or Loadout button, then select the Trade option above it.

Scroll through the list of users and choose the person you want to trade with. If you’re level is 9 or lower, you won’t see other users on the list or be able to trade until you reach Level 10.

Once you’ve selected a user, simply click “Request Trade” to send them a trade request.

After the other user accepts the trade request, you can add your items to the trade window.

When you’re ready to finalize the trade, check the checkbox to confirm, and then click “Make Trade”. Both you and the other person must confirm by checking the checkbox and clicking make trade for the trade to go through.

Keep in mind that once a trade is completed, it cannot be undone. Additionally, other users can send you trade requests, which will appear at the bottom right of your screen.

In the future, trade history will be available in the trade logs page, exclusively for trading plus users.

General Tips & Tricks

Here are more tips that you may find useful about trading in the game.

  1. Don’t be surprised if you find an Unusual item, even if it’s just a Common knife. It can still be valuable, especially with a good effect.

    2. Save your crates; you get one free crate every five levels. While you can open them for a chance at a weapon skin, it’s often smarter to trade them with another user for better weapons. VIP Game Pass holders have a 20% chance of getting a free crate after each round.

    3. When trading, consider the item’s demand, not just its value. Sometimes, having one in-demand item is better than five high-value but low-demand items that are hard to trade.

    4. Keep your credits for the Black Market Shop, open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. You can use your credits to buy better items, which can be excellent for trading.

    5. To find trading partners, join the Ability Playground Discord server and use the dedicated trade ads channel. It’s more effective than hopping from server to server in search of trade opportunities.
