It’s nice to already have a go-to set of spells whenever you venture out into the highlands. You don’t have to worry much about switching between sets for each encounter as you simply blast everyone away with Bombarda or the Killing Curse.
But this can get boring sometimes, so now you’re occupied with creating another perfect spell combination to make quick work of your opponents. The loading screen tips always made a point to have one spell of each color for the optimal combat experience and we’re going to do just that, but with a few minor adjustments. Whip out your wand and read the guide to find out more!
Hogwarts Legacy – The Best Spell Combos To Use
If you ever struggle with the foes you encounter, regardless of species, always remember to keep an eye on the Enemy cards in your Collections screen as the cards there are more than happy to blatantly tell you everyone’s weakness at no cost.
But if you want dastardly spell combos enough to even make the Dark Lord himself wince then keep on reading!
1. Ground and Pound
We’ll start off simple, Descendo doesn’t really do much on its own at the beginning. But the moment you take someone off the ground with Levioso and proceed to follow up with Descendo you will deal a considerable amount of damage as your enemy is considered stunned, therefore increasing your damage output and knocking the lights out of anyone who’s unfortunate enough to be on the business end of your wand.
Feel free to swap Levioso with Arresto Momentum as well if you like playing practical jokes with your wizard friends!
2. Pushover
A very easy-to-use spell combination for those who enjoy pushing people off a high place with little to no effort. Exceptionally useful during the quest where you rescue Highwing from Falbarton Castle. You can use it around the highlands too if you want to forego wand-waving and skip to first-degree murder.
3. Stop, Drop, and Roll
Up next is arson, now you might be thinking that Confringo is the better spell for this and normally you would be right. This is why you draw them in with Accio first and blast them with Incendio next while they’re up in the air.
To add insult to injury, you can lend out a helping hand to your opponent by putting out the flames using Descendo last.
4. Bread and Butter
If you like getting straight to the point then this combination is just for you. Drag your opponent towards you because walking is overrated, slam them into the ground with Descendo, and before the dirt starts to gather in their eyes follow up with Glacius and Diffindo to send them to bed permanently.
The basic cast can be thrown in between those spells for that extra bit of damage. That or you replace Accio entirely with Expelliarmus to make use of two damage spells.
5. Hot n’ Cold
Start off with Glacius and push into either a Confringo or Bombarda, when your enemy is frozen they take extra damage as if they were stunned so nearby foes will be blasted by the area of effect damage from each of the two.
6. Bombs away
For a more advanced method of dispatching anyone in your path, use Transformation to turn your target into an explosive barrel and launch them into somebody else using Depulso!
You can also use Ancient Magic Throw to give your mark an explosive exit and save yourself a spell cooldown. Be sure to get the Transformation Mastery talent if you want this combination to work!
7. Crowd Control
Another simple yet devastating combination. Useful if you’re dealing with creatures unaware of your presence. Open with an Accio into Glacius and then smite anyone you’ve summoned over to you with Descendo.
Most of the time everyone will be too dead for you to even follow up with Incendio!
8. Secret Medusa
Not really a combination, especially when combat is already in full swing, but it’s too good and broken to be left out of the list. Clearing an entire bandit camp is one of the few things Disillusionment lets you get away with, and you shouldn’t!
You don’t even have to worry about making any noise as you can run an entire marathon behind your foe and they won’t pay you any mind until they turn around. If that ever happens just hit the prompt on your screen to have them turn into stone.
And those are some of the combinations favored by many that you can use on your travels! There are countless possibilities when it comes to chaining spells together, we didn’t even include any of the Unforgivable Curses due to how obvious of a choice they are at this point.
Now light an Ashwinder on fire and throw them off a cliff!
