The “Bulls of Blood” puzzle is one of the optional puzzles in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This little gem is easy to miss, but trust me, it’s worth taking a detour. You’ll find it during the mission “The Stolen Cat Mummy” as you make your way through the Castel Sant’Angelo to meet Father Antonio. Here’s everything you need to know to uncover the secret passage, score some loot, and more!
The Bulls of Blood Puzzle Guide
How to Start “Bulls of Blood”:
- Get to the Castel Sant’Angelo
After sneaking, punching Blackshirts, and scaling walls, you’ll complete the “reach the top of the castello” objective. Next, you’ll head toward the Passetto di Borgo. - Find Russo’s Note
When you enter the Courtyard of the Angel, clear out the patrolling fascists. Look for the first door on the right. Inside, you’ll find Russo’s Note on a desk. It mentions a mysterious passage by the fireplace and adds the “Bulls of Blood” mystery to your journal.
Solving the “Bulls of Blood” Puzzle
- Locate the Puzzle Room
Facing away from the fireplace where you found Russo’s Note, head north through the hallway on your right.- Pass through the next room (there’s nothing notable here).
- Continue until you find a desk with some clues.
- Gather Clues
At the desk, pick up the Angel Courtyard Map (which conveniently points you to your current location) and the Red Bulls Card, your key to solving the puzzle. There’s also some lira—because, hey, treasure’s treasure. - Spin the Bull Paintings
Look to your right, and you’ll see two bull paintings on the wall. The Red Bulls Card shows two red bulls facing each other, so interact with each painting and rotate them until the red bulls are on top.
What’s Inside the Secret Passage?
Once the paintings are aligned, the secret door opens, revealing a passage loaded with goodies:
- Cesare Borgia’s Letter, a juicy piece of lore for history buffs.
- A chest with lira—because who doesn’t love extra cash?
- A switch on the wall that opens a gate and nets you 100 Adventure Points.
- Another switch leads you back to the main path, making this a quick and rewarding detour.
I like this puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle because it’s a perfect blend of mystery, history, and reward—very much in the spirit of Indiana Jones himself. Plus, who can resist a treasure hunt in the heart of the Vatican? Keep an eye on those Red Bulls clues; they’re as tricky as Indy’s puzzles but just as satisfying when solved.
So, what are you waiting for? Go spin those paintings, uncover Borgia’s secrets, and add another feather to your adventurer’s cap.
