When going through RPGs or even life-simulators there are a lot of quests that you can do to progress the story. Some of these quests can have a lot of steps and you can get lost easily, that’s why you’ll need a guide to keep things on track!
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are a lot of quests in the game where you have to find a lot of things. Sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming and you get lost, it happens to most of us!
In this guide, we’ll show you how you can complete the Sunken Ruins Quest in the game. We’ll go through what you’ll need to do and who do you need to talk to, so let’s see what this quest is about!
The Sunken Ruins Quest Guide
One of the easier quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley is the Sunken Ruins quest with Merlin. You’ll need to gather flickers, open the ruin, and then take pictures to complete the quest. Then, there’s going to be another quest afterward, so let’s try and finish this one!

Here are the steps we’ll be taking to finish this quest:
- Talk to Merlin in his Study.
- Use the Hourglass to get Flickers from Moana, Ratatouille, or WALL-E realms.
- Get Flickers from the Plaza area.
- Get Flickers from the Ancients Landing area.
- Talk to Merlin again and go inside the Sunken Ruins.
- Take Pictures of the 3 chambers.
- Talk to Merlin again to finish the quest!

Detailed Walkthrough
At the start of the quest, you’ll need to meet Merlin in his Study and talk to him. He’ll give you a task to Find Flickers using your Hourglass and will give you 3 locations to search. For the first area, you can either go to the Moana, Ratatouille, or WALL-E realms and look for them.
Just run around and use the Hourglass to find where the flickers are. A light will appear in the direction of one so get closer and closer to them until they appear. Then, use your hourglass to get them.
The next area you’ll need to go to is “In Dreamlight Valley where Villagers first arrive from Realms” which is the Plaza area. Go around the Plaza and do the same thing you did before to look for the Flickers.
The last area you’ll need to go to is “On Eternity Isle, in a similar place” which is the Ancients Landing area.
Once you found all of the Flickers, you’ll need to talk to Merlin again and he’ll open up the door to the Sunken Ruins.
Head inside the Ruins with Merlin and then talk to him, he’ll give you another task of taking pictures of each chamber. The first one is the Mysterious Pedestal in the western chamber, which is shown below covered in rocks.
The next one is the set of Musical Notes in the eastern chamber as shown below. This one is easy to find since they stand out.
The last one is the Ancient Computer terminal in the northern chamber which is shown below. This one is a bit harder to find because of how small it is.
Once you’ve taken the 3 pictures, you’ll need to talk to Merlin again to finish the quest!
