Overwatch 2 is out and with it the next evolution of the game and the discontinuation of the previous generation. The game didn’t get the smoothest of launches, with buggy installation and hour-long queues in the game being some of the few problems it came across. Not to mention the flak that the developers in Blizzard was still getting and it’s hard to not say that they should have expected this to happen. Despite that, the new Overwatch game has a lot of changes from the old one and in this guide, we’ll show you some tips and tricks as well as some general knowledge that’s good to have for the game.

Despite the jokes on Overwatch 2 being a glorified update, there’s no mistaking that there’s a bunch of new changes into the game. The game’s free now, it’s now 5v5 and there’s even new mechanics, game modes and heroes. This is why you should keep an eye on this information before you jump in headfirst into a match!

The Battle Pass

One of the more controversial additions to Overwatch is the Battle Pass. Since Overwatch is now Free-To-Play it’s a given that they’ll have some sort of monetization to keep the game running. There are two versions of the Battle Pass, the normal one and the paid one.

The paid Battle Pass will let you play all the characters at the start, while the free one you’ll need to get to rank 55 to get all the heroes. The paid Battle Pass also gives you a 15% bonus to your progression on the Battle Pass.

One way to get your Battle Pass level up besides just playing the game is through challenges. There’s plenty of different challenges from daily ones to lifetime challenges that you can complete. These challenges help you in increasing your Battle Pass as well as give you coins for some of them when completed.

Merge Your Account

With the release of Overwatch 2 came the cross-platform progression. You can now merge your accounts into one big one, so your Play Station and PC accounts can now merge, taking all of your progress into one account as an example. New Heroes

Along with the changes in the game also comes new heroes. Junker Queen, Soujourn and Kiriko and all of them have vastly different playstyles. These new characters come with their own abilities and so on so you should try them out and see how you play with them.

Old Heroes, New Plays

Don’t just look at the new heroes, the old ones all have been changed to some degree, and we’re not just talking about name changes. Many of the old Overwatch heroes have been revamped to the new changes in combat and team composition in the game, so go back and use your old mains and see what changed.
