Often boss fights are a one-time thing and when you defeat them that’s it, or they join your party if it’s a JRPG. In some games, though they bring back these enemies and it’s always great to go through multiple bosses but then you fight a boss you’ve previously defeated but is now different. Sometimes they come with stronger attacks, often times they look changed, they retain some of their attack patterns but have new ones as well to keep you on your toes. In Thymesia you get to fight one of the bosses again, and this time he’s a bit different! Let’s start with this Mutated Odur Boss Fight Guide.

Mutated Odur Boss Fight Guide For Thymesia

One of the earlier enemies you’ll face off is a boss called Odur. He’s a humanoid boss so you know he’s going to be quick and dirty when it comes to fighting. This is often true for most humanoid bosses out there. In the later stages though he comes back, and he fights even quicker and is even dirtier than before, figuratively and literally.

You’ll see Odur in one of the stages just after he injected the not-so-happy juice into his veins. Turning him into an angel, if the angel had horrid tentacles instead of wings.

At the start of the battle, you’ll know that he’s quicker because often times he’ll open up with a lunge attack that follows into a combo. This is not an enemy you want to dodge away but instead dodge into! He will tend to do combo attacks and at the end will leave him vulnerable for a couple of strikes. Don’t get too greedy though and back out when he’s ready to attack again.

Sometimes he’ll jump back and do a charged attack that will end with an AOE attack, if you time it right you can dodge towards him and keep attacking as he reels from the attack.

His tentacles aren’t for show though and he’ll often do a quick attack with 3 small tentacles and a delayed big attack with a big tentacle. The big attack can reach pretty far so again, dodging toward him is ideal.

This is the type of boss you see in games where you do an intricate dance of death. You don’t back out but instead, weave into his attacks and attack yourself. All while keeping close to him at all times and punishing the ends of his combos. It’s a great boss and keeps the blood pumping.

Congratulations you now know how to deal with this boss in Thymesia, now go out there and defeat him again! Massive thanks to 100% Guides for showing everyone this boss move. If you want more information on the boss check their video here: Thymesia Mutated Odur Boss Fight – YouTube
