Most games these days let you change your keybindings in the game to whatever you want. Some games still won’t let you do most of the keybinds but usually, they’re patched in at a later date.
In Tower Defense X, knowing the keybindings can be helpful and an advantage especially if you’re doing solo runs. Micro-managing your towers, selling trash towers, and upgrading them are faster with them.

So, why do you need to learn hotkeys in Tower Defense X? Learning these keys can save you the time and effort that you use for moving your mouse around the screen.
Not only that but at higher levels of play most players use hotkeys to micro-manage towers. Here are all the hotkeys you need to know.

Hotkeys
- Tower Hotkeys – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
- Cancel Tower Placement – Q
- Upgrade Top Tower Path – E
- Upgrade Bottom Tower Path – R
- Place Multiple Towers – Hold Left Shift
- Sell Tower – Backspace
- Use Tower Ability – G
General Hotkey Tips
- Selling Towers with Backspace can help immensely with boss waves. You should always sell towers that can’t hit the boss anymore.
- Using the Upgrade hotkeys can save you time when placing multiple towers at once.
- Holding Shift and placing towers can help when you need a bunch of ‘decoy’ towers to tank boss attacks.
- Remember to use the tower’s abilities and use it faster by pressing the G key instead of moving your mouse around!
