Type Soul: Best Soul Reaper Build Guide

The speed-based setup that freezes enemies and melts HP bars

Soul Reaper is one of the most versatile races in TYPE://SOUL, with tools for crowd control, high mobility, and devastating burst damage. The right build can make you an absolute menace in PvP while still shredding bosses in PvE. After a lot of testing, I’ve landed on a Speed + Ice combo setup that’s been performing insanely well in the current meta. This build focuses on chaining freeze effects into high-damage follow-ups, while keeping enough HP to tank through trades.

Best Soul Reaper Build Guide

This Soul Reaper setup is built around 5 Kendo for Safeguard / Embrace and 60 Speed to unlock Black Claw and Ghost Cleave — two of the strongest moves in the game. The Speed tree is absolutely busted in the current meta because it gives you insane mobility, quick gap closers, and low endlag on almost every skill.

You can dash-cancel into combos, escape punishes, or re-engage before your opponent can react, making it nearly impossible for slower builds to keep up. Paired with Ice for freeze setups, this build locks enemies in constant pressure strings, and with 470–500 HP from your accessories, you’re tanky enough to survive trades while dishing out relentless damage.

Core Combos

  • Crit → Black Claw
Not a true combo, but lands often and stacks crit damage.
  • Spectre Step → Cancel → Carving
A safe, clean opener with a stun to set up follow-ups.
  • Crit → Ghost Cleave
Works with almost everything; in Visored, you can replace with Fast Fang for extra burst.
  • Shatter X → Skyscraper → Fast Fang
Freeze into a true air combo — abuse this whenever possible.
  • Carving → Black Claw
Tight timing, but deadly once mastered.
  • Counter → Ghost Cleave
True combo if timed perfectly after a successful counter.

Why This Build Works

  • Ice gives you consistent combo starters and punishes.
  • Speed tree offers the mobility to engage, escape, and reposition faster than most opponents can react.
  • Unseen Blade Core keeps your pressure up and opens more kill windows.
  • High HP accessories make you surprisingly tanky for such an aggressive playstyle.

This is a high-pressure build — you’re not looking to sit back. Use your speed to control the fight, your freezes to lock them down, and your combos to end the match fast.

Wrap-Up

The Soul Reaper race has a lot of viable paths, but in the current meta, Speed + Ice is one of the most reliable and oppressive setups you can run. It dominates 1v1s, can shred in group fights, and still handles PvE content without issues.
