Let’s be real, System Breaker isn’t something you just stumble into in Universal Piece. It takes work. It takes grinding. It takes a lot of chickens (yes, really). But trust me, once you unlock this spec, you’ll feel like Sung Jin-Woo himself stepping out of a manhwa panel. Shadows? Yours. Bosses? Melted. Swag? Unmatched. In this guide, I’ll walk you through every single thing you need to know to get the System Breaker spec, how the trial works, what the moves do, what to build for, and a few tips to make your life a lot easier.
System Breaker Guide & Showcase
System Breaker is one of the most unique and satisfying specs (they call it powers in Universal Piece), based on Sung Jin-Woo from Solo Leveling. Instead of just swinging a sword, you summon shadows of defeated bosses, commanding your own mini-army like a true Monarch.
It’s flashy, powerful, and comes with one of the coolest cutscenes in the game. But getting there? Yeah, it’s a journey, and this guide is your roadmap.

How to Unlock System Breaker (Step-by-Step)
To get System Breaker, you need:
- 1x Shadow Heart
- 45,000G$
- Access to the Solo Island ????? NPC
But to get the Shadow Heart, you’ll need to complete the System Breaker Trial from the Soul??? NPC… and that means preparing a lot.
Here’s the grind, simplified:
The Game Plan to get SystemBreaker – Sung Jin Woo (Short Version)
- Get a Ghost Key
- Drops from System Breaker (15%) or Dual Swordmaster (5% chance) bosses
- Just a heads up: The regular System Breaker boss doesn’t drop the Shadow Heart item (required to become Shadow Monarch)
- Can be fished up (yes, really) but chance is unknown
- Drops from System Breaker (15%) or Dual Swordmaster (5% chance) bosses
- Use Ghost Key to summon King of Curses
- Found on Bones Island
- Defeat him to get a Chicken (3.5% chance)
- Can also be fished up, but chance is also unknown
- Use Chicken to open Red Knight’s Gate in Solo Island
- Defeat Red Knight to get a Red Soul (1.5% or 2.5 % chance)
- Spend 1x Red Soul, 5x Joystick, and 2,000G$ at Soul??? NPC (Solo Island)
- You can get a Joystick by taking down any of these bosses: Master of Light, Dual Swordmaster, System Breaker, or Red Knight.
- Each of them drops it at around a 50–55% chance, so it’s not super rare, but RNG can still mess with you if it’s not your day (trust me, I’ve been there).
- Access the System Breaker Trial
- You can get a Joystick by taking down any of these bosses: Master of Light, Dual Swordmaster, System Breaker, or Red Knight.
- Complete the Trial (I’ve provided a guide below on things you need to know about the trial)
- 45% chance to obtain the Shadow Heart
- Trade Shadow Heart + 45,000G$ at the ????? NPC at Solo Island
- Congrats, you’re now the Shadow Monarch.

System Breaker Trial – What to Expect
To even start the trial, you need:
- 1x Red Soul
- 5x Joystick
- 2,000G$
Speak to the Soul??? NPC at Solo Island to enter.

What’s Inside:
- RedKnight Boss
- 1,000,000 HP
- Defeat him to move forward.
- System Breaker Boss (Trial Version)
- 5,000,000 HP
- Actually uses System Breaker spec, not just Monarch Dagger
- Way harder than his normal version
Defeat both for a 45% chance to get the Shadow Heart.

System Breaker Moveset & Showcase
Here’s a breakdown of how the actual System Breaker spec plays once you’ve unlocked it:
- Z – Arise Menu: Summon or despawn your shadow army. You’ll unlock new shadows as you defeat bosses. More shadows = more stamina drain. Once stamina hits zero, they poof.
- X – Igris: Heavy damage + knockback. Great for clearing or pressure.
- C – Emperor: A long-range strike from the shadows.
- V – Biru, the Ant King: Summons Biru with a flashy cutscene and some damage. Looks amazing but mostly aesthetic.
- B – Full Arise: Calls every shadow you’ve collected at once. Huge AoE damage. Very satisfying.
Build Tips to Maximize SystemBreaker
To really make System Breaker shine:
- Invest in Melee – I dumped 3,000 points into melee for this build, and it absolutely slaps.
- Use 1–2 shadows at a time – Conserve stamina unless you’re going for a nuke burst with Full Arise.
- Best combo: System Breaker shadow + your weapon. It’s clean, efficient, and lets you do consistent damage.
Wrap Up: Worth Every Chicken
Unlocking System Breaker is absolutely a grind. But between the cool abilities, the shadow army, and the sheer style points, it’s totally worth it. Once you’ve got it, you’ll feel like the main character in every boss fight. Whether you’re fishing for chickens or grinding through bosses, stay patient, and good luck pulling that Shadow Heart. Now go summon your kingdom. Up next, if you’re looking to unlock Doom Slayer himself from Doom, I’ve got you covered. Check out my full guide on that too! You won’t want to miss it.
