With the release of Darktide coming near Fatshark, the creators of Vermintide and Darktide and basically the entire “Tide” series, has made it so you can get Vermintide 2 for free. That means there’s a lot of players out there who’s going to get the game for the first time and not know what the other DLC classes are. There’s a lot to choose from in the base game and even more from the DLC classes, and since almost all of them are on sale it’s easy to get them for some people. In this guide we’ll show you how to play the Ranger in Vermintide 2.

Ranger Guide | Warhammer Vermintide 2

There’s a lot of different ways you can build each character or class in Vermintide. Despite this there are some classes that are better at certain areas of the game than others.

The build in this guide will be focusing on taking down specials while giving you some good wave clearing as well, a well rounded build for anyone to use.

Weapons

The Ranger can use a wide range, no pun intended, of weapons in the game. For the melee weapon the best weapon for this build is the Dual Hammers. If the LOTR dwarves love their axes, the Warhammer dwarves love hammers, it’s in the name. So what’s better than a hammer? Two hammers.

The best combo for clearing hordes with the dual hammers is Light – Heavy – Heavy and loop back to a light attack. For killing specials you’ll want to do a Push Attack followed by a Heavy attack, do this until the thing is dead, simple.

For Ranged Weapons we have 3 choices you can make for the best ranged weapons. Fist is the Masterwork Pistol, this weapon is great for taking out specials and bosses in medium range, but lacks a bit when fighting at long range.

For the Long range option you’ll either want the Handgun or the Crossbow. The Handgun can easily one shot body shot specials but its hipfire can be a bit inaccurate. The crossbow can only one hit specials with a headshot but is much more accurate than the handgun.

Talents

There are two talent builds that we’ll go over in this guide.

This build helps you a lot at dealing with specials as well as helps your team. Enchanced power at level 15 is a must because you need that extra power to snipe specials. At level 20 you can pick any talents since they’re all viable, Grungni’s cunning can be great though if you go to quickplay and you’re the only person there using ammunition you don’t really need this.

Exhilarating Vapors at Level 30 is a great help to your team since it gives attack speed and healing. Ranger’s Parting Gift is also interesting since you can use it at anytime and the buff stays until you throw a bomb.

The next build focuses on Consumables, specifically with the Scavenger and Ranger’s Parting Gift combo. Basically for this build you’ll be throwing a lot of bombs, and don’t worry about using all your bombs since Scavenger can give you more anyway. A fun build that still has the special sniping ability of the previous build.

Congratulations you now know a good build for the Ranger in Vermintide 2. Now go out there and try this build out.
