Vermintide 2: Witch Hunter Captain Guide | Warhammer

Heresy detected!

At the time of writing, Vermintide 2 is free to keep for a limited amount of time. Fatshark, the developers of the game and the upcoming Warhammer 40k Darktide also made the DLCs on sale, flooding the game with new players. There’s a lot of characters to choose from in Vermintide, and if you have all the DLCs even more class options are there. Each class can be built differently depending on the weapons and skills you get and in this guide we’ll show you how a great Witch Hunter Captain build for Vermintide 2.

Witch Hunter Captain Guide | Warhammer Vermintide 2

The Witch Hunter is a versatile class that can be quite cool at times. First time players might be amazed on how the witch hunter deals ranged attacks with his brace of pistols. It’s an awesome feeling firing pistol after pistol, throwing each one away and just grabbing a new fully loaded one.

Then comes the different melee weapons the Witch Hunter can bring, from nimble rapiers to large greatswords. Today we’ll go through a rapier build for the Witch Hunter.

Talents

For the level 5 talent we’ll be picking Walking Judgement, since dealing with hordes you can get a ton of temporary health, specially with the attack speed of this build. Since the attack speed is so fast in this build we’ll also be getting Flense which makes your strikes do bleed damage.

Assassin for level 15 will make sure you get as much damage on headshots and make you deal more damage on staggered enemies. Heretic Sighted makes it so it increases your attack speed when you tag a target.

For Level 25 Always Prepared increases your ammunition, this build will be using the Brace of Pistols as your ranged weapon and usually it has 30 shots, with that talent you’ll get 39, great for shooting specials in the head. Finally the level 30 talent Unending Hunt makes it so you get a cooldown bonus if you use your Animosity ability on more than 10 targets, which is something you’ll do a lot anyway.

Weapons and Gear

The weapons for this build will be the rapier and the brace of pistols. The rapier should have a plus Crit Chance and Attack speed property as well as Swift Slaying for more attack speed.

With that combination you can swing your sword around a hundred times per second, mowing down anything in your path.

For the ranged weapon you’ll have the Brace of Pistols with plus power on armored and skaven with Scrounger for more ammunition when doing critical hits. Aim for every special you see and with the bonuses you won’t have any problem with storm vermin.

For the Necklace you’ll want to have more stamina and Block Cost Reduction as well as Barkskin for damage mitigation. For the charm go for power against chaos and more attack speed with Concoction to get all the effects of other potions.

Lastly for the trinket go for cooldown reduction and stamina recovery rate with explosive ordnance to get a bigger boom for your bomb.

Congratualtions you now know a good build for the Witch Hunter Captain in Warhammer Vermintide 2. Now go out there and try the build out.
