Wayfinder takes a lot of the good qualities of MMORPG’s and tries to make their own spin on it to make it stand out. Quests, gear, character system, and even hunts. Hunts are especially interesting because you can get new hunts if you just play the game normally.
For example, Ryvn the Devourer is a special hunt that you can obtain by doing a specific task before it becomes available. If you are interested in hunting Ryvn the Devourer, then this guide will help you out.
How To Find Ryvn The Devourer & Unlock The Hunt
In order to unlock the hunt for Ryvn the Devourer, you will need to run through the Repository of Knowledge until you get Ryvn as the final boss.
There is a chance he will appear, so if he doesn’t appear, then you will have to run it again and again and again until he does.
When he does appear, you will have to get him down to 60% of his health before he runs away, which completes the Repository of Knowledge.
After clearing the Repository of Knowledge, go back to the hub and head to the Huntmaster NPC near the West Gate. Talk to him, and you will get the “A Worthy Opponent” hunt.
Bear in mind, this is not the hunt that will get you to Ryvn. This is another requirement for you to do.
When you do the hunt, you will be taken to the open world to look for the two hunting targets in the Highlands. Once you take the two targets down, you will then have to go back to the Huntsman to turn the hunt in.
After completing the hunt and submitting it to the Huntsman, you will get another quest called “Whispers on the Wind”. This is the beginning of the hunt against Ryvn.
The Whispers on the Wind quest will see you returning to the Repository of Knowledge. But before you go through the Gloom, you will need to equip 2 Shadow Imbuements.
When you enter the Repository, you will have to find this spot on the map to place the lure, which is why you need to have 2 Shadow Imbuements. Shortly after, Ryvn will come in and fight you. Get his health down to 50% and he will disappear again. The quest will then update.
The quest will tell you to pick up the Chipped Plate that Ryvn drops on the ground. Make sure you pick it up and not leave when Ryvn leaves. Otherwise, you will need to do this whole sequence again.
Once you have the Chipped Plate, return to the Huntmaster and he will give you a new quest called “The Lair of the Whisperer”.
When you get the quest, go to the Echo Matrix to craft Ryvn’s Gloomtrace. You will need to have the following materials to craft it:
- 2 Glimmering Verdant Spectra
- 890 Gold
- 5 Alloyed Spectra
Once you have it, you can now begin the hunt for Ryvn officially.
You can now officially hunt Ryvn as many times as you want to grind for resources and materials. You should also queue up as soon as possible to finish the hunt for the first time so you can complete the quest and return to the Huntsman to turn it in, earning you some more rewards.
