Between the talking paintings, the moving staircases, and students levitating books above their heads, you probably think you have seen it all in Hogwarts Legacy.
However, there are also numerous creatures that you can find once you leave the walls of Hogwarts. You can even capture most of them! One such example is the Mooncalf.
The Mooncalf is a particularly odd-looking creature with large black eyes, a long neck, and a perpetual smile. If you are on a hunt for a Mooncalf, this guide will show you how and where to catch one.

The Mooncalf can be found rather easily as its den is located very close to Hogwarts. As you can see in the image above, all you have to do is go northwest of Hogwarts to find it.
However, if you are going to catch a Mooncalf, you have to do so at night.

After you have made your way to the Mooncalfās den at night, youāll find a large herd of the odd creatures running around.
Before you run in and try to catch one, be sure you have your Nab-Sack ready. Approach slowly so you won’t scare them off, then use the Levioso spell on one of them.
After you have successfully lifted one of the Mooncalves off of the ground, approach it and use your Nab-Sack to catch it.
Now, you have a Mooncalf you can bring to your Vivarium to love and care for!
