The first thing to do is to craft a Salvage and Repair Station from your Basic Workbench. Once that is done, a neat trick to get scrap parts without spending too many resources is by salvaging Wood Helms— just do the following:

• Craft Copper Anvil from your Basic Workbench.
• Then, using your Copper Anvil, craft multiple Wood Helms; one Wood Helm will cost you seven wood.
• After crafting the Wood Helms, go to the Salvage and Repair Station, then, place the Wood Helms there. You can only put in a maximum of six. Finally, press salvage items.
• This process will yield you seven scrap parts. These are mainly used for repairing broken tools, weapons, and equipment.
