You need to come all the way to the new region called Safhe Shatranj on the very west side of the map. Here you will end up finding a very large temple with ruins on the outside of it. Do not go under the ground to be looking for the Chess arena.

Instead, you want to be on the surface and exactly where it is shown in the picture above. You will find tile–like pieces, which is the chess battleground arena, and here you may approach them one by one to be able to place the chess pieces.
