The Best Starter Spirit To Pick
After going through a bit of an introduction, your dad will show you three Spirits to pick from. They are Ankylo, Sheemp, and Capacibee.
When you’re in the picking room, you can check the stats of each Spirit as well as their cards on your own. However, we’re going to preface this with don’t feel pressured – you’ll be able to find more in the future!
Now, let’s talk about the Spirits themselves. You may also want to check this guide on How to Find, Tame Wild Spirits & Find Caves in the game.
Sheemp here is a balanced stats Spirit, perfect for a calm playstyle. He can be aggressive too as his “Hot to Touch” passive applies burn to an enemy for every Fire damage he receives.
That’s pretty neat, except that he’s specifically good against Fire Spirits and no other. His extra Armor point is to use his Burn card that removes 1 Armor for Burn damage.
Ankylo relies on a more strategic playstyle, where he has to stack Rage to send a powerful attack to his foe. On top of that, he also has several powerful moves.
Capacibee is a very tenacious Spirit. He’s a good support Spirit who can reduce the enemy’s Armor. And if his HP is brought down to 0 for the first time in a battle, it’ll recover to 10 afterward.
Capacibee is a good Spirit to have in addition to your whole party. But as your first Spirit, it can be quite a pain to fight with as it has few attack moves.
Ankylo is the best starter Spirit to pick in the game because of his powerful moves. Early game, you’re going to be busy getting new Spirits or fighting them. Ankylo can bring down their health fast enough so you can immediately get them.
Don’t sweat too much if you didn’t pick him. The other Spirits are still interesting to play and fight with. Much, much later in the game, you’ll meet a lot of Spirits that you can collect. While you’ll only get to have three for now, you can increase your roster as well later in the game.
