The Primal Council are very tough bosses that need to be beaten with a very strategic and tactical approach from all sides of the raid party. In this guide, we shall be showing you all of their skills as well as how you can beat them easily. Let’s get started.

The Primal Council Normal + Heroic Boss Guide | Vault of the Incarnates – WoW Dragonflight

Basic Info

In this boss fight, all the bosses will be active at once meaning that it is a Cleave heavy fight. They do not share their HP at all so they will all have their separate amount of HP amount that you will need to go through.

We recommend using a Hero on Pull and burning all bosses evenly. Doing it this way will limit the time the raid has to deal with their convocations.

Positioning

Start the bosses at top of the encounter area and rotate around as needed. The raid can maintain a 5-yard spread anytime they are not doing any of their mechanics. It is also possible to bait the Earthen Pillar mechanic by stacking but the raid will need to move apart very quickly.

Splitting The Dps & Interrupt

You will want to split the DPS to all the 4 bosses at once and make sure that you have to interrupt teams that can deal with Stormlash and Kadros.

These 2 bosses can be seen frequently channeling some spells like Frost Spike or Lighting Bolt that can do a lot of damage to the raid. So interrupting them is essential to victory.

Earthen Pillar

Shortly after the pull will happen the Opalfang will go ahead and cast the spell and skill called Earthen Pillar that is scary. You will need to deal with it accordingly. Several of these will erupt near the players and do a lot of DMG and knock them out within 6 yards.

These ridges are very important to interrupt and counter while in a raid. So make sure that you will deal with them first when they show up.

Conductive Mark

When you see a blue circle appearing near your character, it means that you have the Conductive Mark that is fired from Dathea. This can spread to anyone who comes within 5 yards and increases the damage the longer that it is on.

Just run into an Earthen Pillar and you will get it cleared. Players should pre-spread before it actually comes out to better counter it. If you are a healer, make sure that you heal these people first.

Meteor Axes

After the Conductive mark will come the Meteor Axes fired from Embar. This will hit a total of 2 targets and appear as big orange circles around the players. One of these circles should be used to destroy the Earthen Pillars that will come up on the ground.

Scorched Ground & Primal Blizzard

After it has been activated, it will leave behind a whole area of Scorched Ground. This area is used to counter Kadros’s energy ability – Primal Blizzard. You will get stacks of frozen damage more and more as it gets cast. Just enter the scorched ground and it will not increase. You should get inside only when you have 6 to 7 stacks.

Crush

Opelfang’s Crush will do a lot of physical damage and increases this type of damage taken by 100% per stack. Tanks will need to do a swap after every crush to keep the damage manageable. So if you are a tank, just do a regular swap when you get a lot of stacks.

Slashing Blaze

Source – Sugarvenom_LYL

This is just a straight-on spell that does a lot of damage in a straight line and can mark and damage all players in a line. If you are the sole target of the boss, you will need to just point it at a corner and save your comrades.

Chain Lighting

This one is the easiest to counter. Just spread out as much as possible and it won’t hit a lot of players and it will cease to be in effect.

Convocation Abilities

These are the abilities that do AoE DMG after the bosses have been killed.

  • Dathea– tornadoes that knock you up
  • Kadros – stacks of Primal Blizzard
