Boss fights in Elden Ring can be challenging. If you have a lower level gear or are not prepared enough, you may fail the fight. However, by learning the move set of the boss, you can emerge victoriously. This guide will show you how you can defeat the Erdtree Burial Watchdog.
Solo Erdtree Burial Watchdog – Elden Ring
The Erdtree Burial Watchdog is an optional boss that you can find in most of the catacomb areas in Elden Ring. This boss is a Foe class and you can find it closest in the Stormfoot Catacombs.
After going inside the catacombs and weaving through the fire traps, you should find a ladder that leads to an upper floor. Once you are on the upper floor, jump to the lower second floor and activate the lever.
Climb up the ladders and enter the mist to find the Erdtree Burial Watchdog.
The Erdtree Burial Watchdog will spew fire attacks while spinning around. If you can, try to get a fire-resistance talisman to decrease its damage.
When it stops spewing fire, it will attack with the sword: once on the right and once on the left, and follow it up with a full turn swing. When it starts charging up for the swing, time your dodge to avoid getting damaged.
The best time to attack is when it is spewing fire attacks. You can go behind it and start attacking it while dodging continuously to the left.
It will also stand up and jump, performing slamming attacks. These attacks are slower than others, so simply dodge back.
Watch out for the firetail attack as well, you will know this if the head of the watchdog turns around to face you.
When it comes to fighting the Watchdog, you have to continuously dodge and move while sneaking attacks in during delays.
Be patient and focus on dodging fast attacks to avoid damage. You will get the Noble Sorcerer’s ashes after defeating it.
