When you play RPGs that set a high bar for others like Baldur’s Gate 3, you already know that you and your party will be the chosen ones to save whatever is ravaging the realm nearby. But doing all of that while pretending to be a hero can get boring sometimes. You already know how the story will end, so why spice things up before you get there?

There’s different benefits to being good or evil in Baldur’s Gate 3, you either do what’s right or take what you can get. We’ll let you in on what both alignments have in better detail as you read on through. Make sure that your nosy paladin friends aren’t looking!

Which is Better, Good OR Evil?

Your first reason to play either Good or Evil in Baldur’s Gate 3 is replayability, but you don’t want to go full evil as the game will punish you for doing so. That and the game will feel completely empty if you decide to off everyone you see. You’ll still get annoying NPCs that may or may not deserve a good keelhauling however, so there’s still enough reason to be evil at times.

The magic lies somewhere in the middle of both good and evil. Most of that will shine through dialog options. You can’t always be somebody else’s doormat to tread on so a little sass is always welcome, especially towards NPCs who deserve it. Just make sure that you get a good reading of the room before your lips start smacking. That will put you towards the evil route if you win the fight afterwards.

Right now, you’re better off leaning towards good. Looking out for yourself first and your own people is always a good choice before everybody else. Save your dark deeds for the appropriate time and don’t give in to the tunnel vision you’re experiencing. But then again, your actions in Baldur’s Gate 3 really won’t that bad, as long as you can justify them.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
