There are a couple of Dandori Challenges you will need to complete to increase your Dandori level and pass the Sage Leaf‘s practices in Pikmin 4. One of the chapters you need to finish is the 2nd Story: Snow Problem. The practice takes place in an icy dungeon, so be prepared to deal with the cold, and don’t say we did not warn you! Now, let’s get to our Pikmin 4: 2nd Story: Snow Problem Guide.
Snow Problem Guide
In order to complete the second Story in Trial of The Sage Leaf, you must collect 45 raw ingredients in an ice dungeon. As you will encounter a lot of frozen areas there, you should bring Red Pikmin with you.
Here are all the steps you need to follow:
- Enter the Icy Dungeon for 2nd Story: Snow Problem.
- Bring Red Pikmin and Oatchi with you.
- Collect 45 Raw Materials.
- Be careful with the hostile enemies around the area.
- Have your Pikmin build a wall.
- Reach the Sage Leaf!
Red Pikmin does not have the ability to generate fire, but they are resistant to it and can be used to collect and carry hot lava.
Detailed Walkthrough
Starting off the chapter, you will see a fireplace on your left. The first thing you should do is to get the hot lava from the fireplace. Then, keep going to the left, you will see an obstacle blocking your way and another fireplace.
However, you will notice that this one is unlit. Throw the hot lava you have been carrying to it, then take another one and use it on the obstacle to burn & get rid of it.
Go forward and unfreeze the frozen radiator on your right. Don’t forget the collect the Red Pikmin there as well.
As the frozen radiator unfreezes, an Arctic Cannon Larva behind it will begin to throw ice balls on your way. Avoid it for now and go back to the fireplace to get a hot lava. Then, go up where the larva is located, and lit the fireplace there.
Now you can use the hot lava on the Arctic Cannon Larva to get rid of it.
There, you will also see a group of ice on the ground. You should break them and have your Pikmin carry them for you.
Keep following the path, you will encounter a giant ice ball there, first lit the fireplace on its left, then throw the hot lava on it. Don’t forget to pluck the Red Pikmin on the right too.
Get rid of the Arctic Cannon Larva on their way. There is an Icy Blowhog in the middle of the new area you opened. You will see an unlit fireplace on its left, first put hot lava there, then get another one and go to the right to find ice blocks.
Then go left and collect all of the ice blocks there, also get your Red Pikmin back.
After that, you can go back to the Icy Blowhog and throw your Pikmin on it to weigh it down, once it is on the ground, stun it by using Oatchi.
Get rid of the obstacle behind the Icy Blowhog. In the new area, you will see an Arctic Cannon Larva and an unlit fireplace on the right.
You will also see a frozen radiator, throw hot lava on it to break it, and collect the ice blocks.
Now, go back to the ending point. You can see where it is on the map we have provided above. Collect the last pile of ice blocks/raw material there and your Pikmin will build the wall for you to reach the Sage.
Once the wall is finished, you will be able to climb it and finish the 2nd Story: Snow Problem in Pikmin 4!
