Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Open the Secret Cellar Door in Ornate Wooden Hatch

There’s loot here, I can smell it!

Baldur's Gate 3 Secret Cellar Door

When going through a lot of different games, we can develop certain skills and senses. The most important one is the sense to smell a loot everywhere. You see that wall? That’s not a wall, no I haven’t been swinging at every wall I see! In Baldur’s Gate 3, there’s a lot of cool loot that’s hidden behind mechanisms and secret areas. We all want that loot though; we need them even if we don’t know what they are!

In this guide, we’ll show you how to open the Secret Cellar Door under an Ornate Wooden Hatch in the game. Don’t worry since this one is a bit easy, just filled with traps!

How to Open the Secret Cellar Door in Ornate Wooden Hatch

At one point in the game, while traveling around, you might run into an Ornate Wooden Hatch that leads to the cellar shown below. That area actually has a hidden door that can only be opened by doing something specific. You’ll want to select two characters and have them sit on both the thrones shown below.

If the characters keep following other characters around you can “un-group” them all by clicking on the chain icon below their portraits to the left.

Once the second character sits on the second throne the hidden door will open and there, you’ll see the loot inside!

Be careful though, that room is filled with traps! There’s a pressure plate that is right in front of the entrance. And if you activate it, the room will be filled with poison, including the area where the thrones are.

The area though is filled with all sorts of loot from a +1 Greataxe to other weapons, potions and gold. Make sure to clear it out, since you’ll need a lot of cash! Unless you’ve been stealing cash from every merchant like me.

That’s how you open the Secret Cellar Door in that area in Baldur’s Gate 3. Now, go out there and try it out yourself! Now that you know that go check out on what happens if you break your oaths as a paladin in the game!
