Baldur’s Gate 3 has some pretty open quest design when it comes to player choice and agency. Most quests have a lot of ways of you dealing with it. From alternate routes, to talking things out or just murdering anything that moves. Sometimes you have to wonder what the consequences are of taking these certain roots. Maybe you don’t have saves before taking the choice or you’re just curious.
In this guide, we’ll show you what happens if you free the Pixie Dolly from the lantern or what happens if you just keep her in. Now, let’s see what the game has to offer!
Should You Free the Pixie Dolly? | All Consequences Explained
At one point in the game, you’ll find a lantern that’s pretty great for making traversing a particular cursed and dark area easier in the game. The lantern is there to protect you from the Shadow Curse, but you’ll have to lug it around with one hand, which might be bad for certain characters. How do you expect me to swing a big sword if I have to carry this thing around!
Well, you can actually interact with the lantern and talk to it, because there’s something inside the lantern. That something is a Pixie, not to be confused with a fairy which is something different in DnD. Like how Devils and Demons are different, DnD can be quite weird.
If you release the Fairy, she’ll be thankful to you and your party and actually give you the Pixie’s Blessing. This is a permanent condition that lets you run around the place without any worry since it protects you from the Shadow Curse. This is great if you don’t want to lug around a lantern all the time.
If you don’t release her, then you’ll have to lug the lantern around. Not really much to it, you’ll need to use one hand to carry it. Certain characters like the Dark Urge can get different ways against the Shadow Curse but that’s beyond the scope of the article. Also, we don’t want to spoil you the story!
