The Dragon Zombie itself is not new to the franchise, making its first debut at the titular first Final Fantasy game. One has to ask if the ways to beat this foe would be the same as before, with its undead spec rendering it weak from fire or holy spells.
While that’s true, there are a few things you would need to keep in mind as the new addition to the franchise derives away from turn based combat into a more live action path. Read on to find out the best strategy to fight this colossal creature.
How To Beat Dragon Zombie
As mentioned before, the Dragon Zombie is still weak to Fire and Holy spells but playing as Jack would tempt you to just brute force the foe like any other. If you are over leveled this isn’t a bad strategy but a few moves that are unique to the game could put a damper into your plans.
First off, you would have to be careful with executing melee combos as the Dragon likes using Deadly Stomp, an AOE that chunks a lot of damage from your health, at intervals. Time your attacks correctly and watch out for the banner that appears when it’s starting to execute this special move.
Another thing to look out for are the rot puddles it regurgitates during the first part of the fight. This will cover big gaps in the arena and will chunk your health if you step on them. Be careful to avoid these dark puddles as you go along.
Once you reach midway through the fight, Jack will then execute a combo that will sever the Dragon’s Tail.
This eliminates the puddles and makes it easier for you to chunk down its remaining health. From that point on, feel free to execute the hardest hitting combos as it will not fight as much and becomes remarkably easier even with the cool transformation it does.
It’s not the hardest boss in the fight, but it’s still more difficult than the average mob.
