Fae Farm – How To Breed Animals

You can never have too many pets!

Fae Farm is a magical game that allows you to experience the wonders of owning and running your own farm. However, no farm is complete without its animals, especially the ones that are as cute and adorable as the ones in this game. If you’re having trouble wondering why your animals aren’t breeding, even though you are taking care of them, we have you sorted out.

In this guide, we will show you how to breed all of the animals that you can keep in your farm. You’ll be able to watch your farm burst with life in no time! Let’s dive into it.

How To Breed Animals

The task of breeding animals involves quite a few steps, and you will find yourself running around a bit. However, this spread of activities will be very exciting and it will be all worth it when you see your new furry (or feathery) friend.

Here are the steps that you need to follow:

  1. Travel to the Plains of Plenty. This is where all the buying and breeding services for animals are.
  2. Talk to Earline for buying Chickoos and Cottontails, or Jeremiah for buying Woolyhorns and Mamoos.
  3. Head back to the homestead and register your new animal. Register Chickoos and Cottontails at the Coop Ledger, and Woolyhorns and Mamoos at the Barn Ledger.
  4. Return to Plains of Plenty while setting your newly registered pet to follow you.
  5. Talk to one of the vendors selling breeding services. This will be Loretta for breeding Chickoos and Cottontails, and Patel for breeding Woolyhorns and Mamoos.
  6. Leave your pet at the breeder, with a charm or pillow for increasing happiness and chances of your favorite hue in the new pet.
  7. Wait a few days and return to the breeder for your new pet! The pet you gave to the breeder will return to the homestead by itself.

Detailed Breakdown

Travel to the Plains of Plenty

The first thing that you want to do is head to the Plains of Plenty. These are the lands to the west where all the animal breeding and selling services are available. In particular, there will be four vendors that you will be dealing with for breeding your new animals.

Approach A Vendor

Once you reach Plains of Plenty, you will want to go to one of two sellers, depending on the type of animal that you want to breed. Earline sells Chickoos and Cottontails, while Jeremiah sells Woolyhorns and Mamoos.

Since the Coop is unlocked from the start, we will approach Earline for buying the Coop animals.

The process is the same for the Barn animals once you unlock them, except you will go to Jeremiah. You can unlock them by beating their dungeon level.

Buy New Animal

Talk to Earline and select the Buy Animal option. Here you will see the option to buy a Chickoo or Cottontail. Purchase the animal that you want and bid her farewell. Now, you will need to head back towards your homestead so that you can register your new pet.

This can be done at the Coop Ledger building, which will already be available near the homestead. It is the building with the ledger, table and inkwell at the front. The Barn Ledger building will also be nearby when you unlock it.

Register Your New Pet

Interact with the Coop building and this will open up the Coop Ledger menu. There are a variety of management options that you can choose from. You can also register up to six pets here per coop. Select your new pet in this menu and this will set them to follow you in the map.

As a bonus, feed your pet and give them pets to make sure that they are happy, as this will help with breeding. Now, you can head back to the Plains of Plenty with your animal right on your tail!

Bring your Registered Animal for Breeding

Once you reach the Plains of Plenty, it is time to approach a breeder. The breeder for Chickoos and Cottontails is Loretta while the breeder for Woolyhorns and Mamoos is Patel. Since we bought a Chickoo for this guide, we will be approaching Loretta.

However, if you bought a Woolyhorn or Mamoo, you would be approaching Patel, and it would be the same process. You will find Loretta standing nearby to the left of Earline, from whom we bought the Chickoo in the first place.

Purchase Animal Breeding Services

Talk to Loretta and select the Animal Breeding Services option. This will give you two options, which include Animal Breeding and Shop Breeding Items.

The breeding items available to you include charms and pillows that can provide certain boosts or options when you are breeding your animal.

They aren’t necessary but can be a great added bonus. A heart pillow charm can give your new animal a chance for increased happiness, which means greater resources. Alternatively, you can select the colored charms to increase the chance of your new pet being a particular color.

Select Animal Breeding

Return back to the previous menu once you have decided to purchase a charm or not. Select the Animal Breeding option and the breeder will provide you with a few more options.

They will ask you whether you want to leave the animal only or do so with a charm. Choose your desired option and the breeder will tell you that it will take a few days for the process to complete. Once you have left your animal, you can even see them in the nearby pen.

You will need to wait a few days, which you can do by completing other tasks pending in your farm and sleeping at your homestead to pass the time.

Collect Your New Baby Pet

Once a few days have passed, it is time to get your new baby pet. Return to the breeder in Plains of Plenty, where you left your animal for breeding. In our case, this is Loretta.

The animal you took for breeding will return to its designation at your homestead, but the new baby will need to be collected.

You don’t even need to talk to the breeder but can instead just approach the pen where you left the animal.

You will find that there is a cute baby in the pen. Give them a name and ask them to follow you. Return to the homestead with the new baby, and have it registered at the relevant Ledger.
