A lot of your time in Fae Farm will be spent in taking care of your farm, finishing quests and exploring the world. There will be moments though where you may want to simply kick back and relax. What better place is there to do so than in your home in the game.
However, you may feel that your home is not spacious enough for all the furniture that you want to place inside. In this guide, we will show you how you can upgrade your home in Fae Farm to increase the space available to you. Now, let’s see how you can achieve this.
How To Upgrade Home
There will be a number of new homes that you will obtain as you progress your way through the game. Upgrading these homes will provide you with stat bonuses with your character, via the Coziness mechanic in the game.
You will need to do quite a bit of gathering and moving around in this quest. Here’s the steps you need to follow to upgrade your home:
- Locate a Carpenter in the world of Fae Farm. You can go to either Aspen in the Town Center or Lorimdal in the Elven Village.
- Talk to the carpenter and check the resources needed to purchase an upgrade for your home.
- Gather the necessary resources and return to the Carpenter.
- Purchase the upgrade and wait for a day to let the upgrade take effect.
Detailed Breakdown
Locate a Carpenter
The great thing about an upgraded home is that you can increase the Coziness of your home. The higher the Coziness, the greater stat boosts you’ll receive to your health, energy and mana. Your journey of upgrading your home starts with finding a Carpenter NPC in the world of Fae Farm.
There are two carpenters that you can talk to: Aspen in Town Center and Lorimdal in the Elven Village. Both of them are viable options for upgrading your home, regardless of where it is.
Talk to the Carpenter
In this guide, we will consider Aspen as he is the closest to the homestead at the start and it makes the most sense to go to him. Later on, when you have explored more of the land, Lorimdal will also be a viable option. Once you have found a Carpenter, approach and speak to them.
In our case, this is Aspen the Carpenter.
Check Upgrade Requirements
Select the option which says Carpentry Services followed by Upgrade Home. This will open up the World Map and you can hover over any of the homes you own for an upgrade. Each upgrade will cost a certain amount of resources that will be displayed in a list on the right after you select the home.
Here’s the location for some of the materials:
- Beech Log – Hazy Haven & Verdant Valley
- Copper Ore – Saltwater Mines (check the Floor details)
Purchase the Upgrade
If you fulfill these requirements, great! You can purchase the upgrade right away. However, if you don’t, you will need to go out in the world and gather these resources from their designated areas. Since this is the initial upgrade, it should not take long to fulfill the requirements.
Make the purchase and the carpenter will tell you that you need to wait till the next day for the upgrade to take effect. So, don’t worry if you return home and see that nothing has changed. You haven’t been scammed!
Head Home and Sleep Until Tomorrow
Now that you have the upgrade in the bag, return home so you can sleep and pass the time until tomorrow. When you wake up, you will find that your home has magically transformed while you were asleep.
The first upgrade to your homestead will increase the dimensions of the floor, allowing you more spaciousness and room to put your furniture. Further upgrades can even add an extra floor to your home and even increase its dimensions.
And there you have it, your first upgrade! However, the journey doesn’t end there! There are plenty of more upgrades available, so don’t stop working towards them. The requirements for subsequent upgrades will also increase so you will need to gather even more and harder to get resources. Good luck!
