Payday 3: “Under the Surphaze” Safe Location

Payday 3 features unique heists in the various maps that are available in the game. Each of these maps provides players with a unique playground to sneak around and steal from. Sometimes the path is not always straightforward, and you may have to find items that are not immediately apparent.

One of these situations occurs in the Under the Surphaze heist, where you have to locate a safe containing important items needed to progress through the heist. In this guide, I will show you where to locate this hidden safe!

“Under the Surphaze” Safe Location

Locating the Safe is part of the optional objective where you have to locate the Manager’s Office. This will not be an easy task because you will need to be mindful to not get detected by security guards and cameras. Unless, of course, you want to go in all guns blazing. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Locate the Manager’s Office and lockpick it to gain access.
2. Look at the bottom of the wall that is behind the desk with the computer. There will be a wooden panel that you can interact with showing the prompt to Open.
3. Open the panel and this will reveal that the safe was hidden behind.
4. Crack open the safe by succeeding in the minigame. It will have a bunch of items inside including a USB Drive you need for the Uma Ladette painting.

Detailed Walkthrough

When you spawn into the Under the Surphaze heist, you will need to locate the Manager’s Office as this is where the safe is. Since Payday 3 changes the orientation for every heist, the position of this Office will not always be apparent.

However, in most cases you can access the Manager’s Office by walking around the sides of buildings and locating boxes or pathways that lead to platforms above.

When you get on these platforms, you should be able to see if the Manager’s Office is there through the window.

Sometimes, you will need to look around for additional platforms as sometimes these windows lead to other rooms like Server Rooms.

Once you locate the Manager’s Office, use a cutter to cut through the window, allowing you to enter through it.

However, we recommend that you don’t beeline for the Office straightaway since there are typically a lot of security guards and cameras around the area.

So, it may be a better idea for you to complete other objectives such as getting QR codes from the Server room so you can hack and move around easily.

Once you’re in front of the Manager’s Office, you will notice that it is locked. Make sure that the coast is clear as you will need to go through the lockpicking minigame.

After opening the door, enter inside and you’ll see a desk with a computer on it.

To locate the safe, you will need to look at the wall that is behind the desk. At first, there may be nothing obvious but looking at the bottom of it will reveal a wooden panel.

Look at this panel and you will notice there is a prompt to Open. Hold the F Key and open this panel.

Opening the Panel will reveal the Safe that is tucked away. Now, you can choose the Crack the Safe option with the F key, and this will start the safe unlocking minigame.

The trick to this minigame is to rotate the dial in the direction that the game is telling you until it starts vibrating.

This vibration indicates you are getting close. Slow down until you reach the number and the safe will turn green showing you got one part of the combination.

Now, you will have to rotate the dial in the other direction. Keep going back and forth until you get the combination right and crack the safe.

Opening this safe will reveal a bunch of items, which includes the USB Drive that you need to access the Uma Ladette painting.
