The Front: How to Repair Structures

Learn to fix your damaged buildings with this guide!

The Front is a new survival game set in an alternate world where a tyrannical empire has taken over. In this game, you will have to fight off various hostile creatures, humans, and even other players.

Over time, you’ll be using a wide range of resources to build up your own base, but eventually, whether due to enemies attacking or just plain degradation, it will get damaged. So, how do you repair damaged structures in The Front?

How to Repair Structures

First of all, you have to unlock the Wood Hammer in the Weapons tech tree. For this, you’ll also need to advance through the Wood Spear and Stone Knife nodes.

Once you’ve unlocked the recipe, craft a Wood Hammer. This will require 7 wood¸ 2 tape, and 1 rope. This is all you’ll need to start repairing structures.

With a hammer in your hand, you simply have to walk up to any damaged structure and hit it while holding the necessary resources.

For example, a broken wood spike barrier will need a varying number of wood, stone, and rope to fix it, depending on the damage. With those materials on hand, hitting it with the hammer should repair it.

Auto Repairing Your Base

Now, since every structure in your base will eventually degrade over time, you may want to set up a way to automatically repair your base.

This is where the Spacetime Beacon comes into play. In order to unlock it, you will first need to progress a bit through the Structures tech tree. It should be past the wooden door recipe.

The Spacetime Beacon maintains any structures within its range of influence as long as you have the necessary materials stored in it. To construct one, you will need 18 wood, 15 stone, 10 fiber, and 1 ether shard.

Next, interact with the beacon and you should see the weekly auto repair cost on the upper right hand side of the menu.

In order to insert the required materials, simply add them to the Inventory Bar on the right and click on submit resources.

As the note in this menu says, structures within your territory will automatically be repaired every hour, which is very convenient especially when you’re offline.

And that’s how you repair structures in The Front. Now you can get out there and start exploring this strange and hostile world without fear of your base breaking down over time!
