You can upgrade weapons in Alan Wake 2 to improve Saga’s fighting chances. The function is introduced almost instantly, something that’s easy to miss. Yet, you can’t really do anything until you proceed further in the game. We’re going to show you exactly how you can upgrade your weapons in the game and what they may cost.
How to Upgrade Weapons
Upgrade function is available right of Return 1: Invitation chapter. After unlocking that, head into the Mind Place.
Inside your Mind Place, to the side is a table with the Pistols magazine. Interacting with this magazine allows you to access the three available upgrades for the Pistol.
Here are what the 3 available upgrades in the game do:
- Again and Again: allows auto-fire mode.
- Costs 18 fragments.
- More Bullets: increases pistol capacity by 50%.
- Costs 12 fragments.
- Another Headshot: extends stun duration for 2 consecutive headshots.
- Costs 12 fragments.
Fragments are upgrade parts in this game, and you can find them inside Alex Casey’s lunchboxes. As you proceed through the game, make sure not to miss them to get your upgrades.
They are in the form of the scattered Manuscript Fragments that also contain interesting lore. Some, you’re bound to find as you proceed in the game.
