Valorant is THE one multiplayer experience where you do not want to be weighed down by anything, and I mean ANYTHING! Winning in this very skill-based game can be extremely painful and very rewarding at the same time, but sometimes FPS can be the biggest setback.

Fixing the FPS for any game can be tedious and hard. I have tried putting down the simple and most effective ways of how you can get back on track and fix that k/d ratio!

This is the complete optimization guide for Valoran for PC users for fixing the low FPS.

Complete Optimization Guide – How To Boost FPS In Valorant

1. Optimize Video Settings

First of all, we need to be sure how much is your current FPS if we need to fix it. Valorant has a way of providing you with in-game statistics about how your game runs. So there is no need of downloading extra applications.

Everything started in the SETTINGS menu

Then after going inside the Settings menu, before we play with the graphics settings, go over to the STATS tab. Here we can set the things that we need to see about how our game runs.

You can do it exactly as I did here, or you can go more in-depth to even find out more about your CPU and GPU whilst running the game. With my settings, you will see the Fps, the Server Tick Rate, the CPU rate, the latency and the packet loss.

In the GENERAL tab, you can control the limit on your FPS. Here you can also play with your resolution. Although I recommend setting the natural resolution from your monitor, which you can see in the system menu.

A big part of how to increase the FPS, like in every other game, is lowering your resolution but sacrificing a big part of the visuals.

And here we go, into the graphics quality settings. This preset here is for low-end PC’s and laptops. I have tried putting everything into the lowest, but with this preset, I have managed to make the most out of my Valorant games in terms of FPS. So be sure to give it a try.

2. Change Valorant Process Priority

Open Task Manager with CTL + ALT + DEL. Here find Valorant in the Cpu tab and proceed to right-click it to choose the Details tab. Find VALORANT-Win64- Shipping.exe and right-click it also. Then go to Set Priority, and choose High.

This helps a lot in some situations because you are making some background applications not interfere with your running game.

3. End CPU Intensive Apps

Make sure nothing is running in the background. Sometimes there are start-up programs that use the Cpu without you even knowing. You can go into the start-up section to disable them.

4. Choosing Game Mode

Go to Settings, go to Gaming. You will Game Mode with an option to tick on/off. Tick it on and it should disable background applications running. Maybe something like a windows updates.

5. Custom Graphics Settings

While in the Game Mode tab, click on Graphics. Here find Valorant in its located folder.

It is going to add it to a huge list. From here, you can select Options, and select High Performance for your GPU to use. This helps a ton too.

6. Windows Update

Make sure you are up to date with updates, so they can’t download while in-game.

7.Update Graphics Driver / Optimize / Image Scaling

Make sure you are up to date with your Graphics Driver. In my case, I use Nvidia GeForce Experience. You just Download it and Update it. Do it every 2-3 months.

You can start the game through Nvidia too. Might help to optimize it.

Image scaling is an option inside Geforce Experience too. You can tick it to improve on your FPS and resolution ratio. You can tick on Battery Boost too – mostly helps for laptops.

8. Nvidia Control Panel

For me, the biggest help I’ve got for increasing my FPS, not just on Valorant, is the Nvidia Control Panel. You can access it by right clicking on the desktop, or on your Nvidia icon on the bottom right.

You will go to Manage 3D Settings. Then from here choose Program Settings. Select Valorant like a program to customize. If it is not showing on the list, you can click on Add and find it manually.

Everything should be changed, but if this stuff aren’t, make sure to do so:

  • Image Scaling – On
  • Anisotropic Filtering – Off
  • Antialiasing  FXAA – Off
  • Low latency Mode – On
  • Multi Frame Sampled AA – Off
  • Power Management Mode – Prefer maximum performance

All of these steps together should make a drastic change. Good luck!
