There are new items that players can now collect in the new Genshin Impact. These are the Foggy Forest Branches that have now been added to the map as part of the new update. There are six of these throughout the new areas and finding all of them can lead to an interesting reward as part of a quest in update 4.2.
In this guide, we will show you the locations of all of the 6 Foggy Forest Branches to ensure you can get the measly. We will also show you how you can use these Foggy Forest Branches once you have obtained all of them. This is to ensure that you can get rewarded for your efforts. Let’s dive in and see where you can find them.
All 6 Foggy Forest Branch Locations
There are 6 Foggy Forest Branch locations that are scattered throughout the map. Most of these branches are behind a puzzle and sometimes the solution is not immediately apparent. So, if there is a Foggy Forest Branch behind a puzzle, we will also look at how you can solve it.

Foggy Forest Branch #1
The first Foggy Forest Branch can be found behind a gate in the following location on the map.
Approach the gate and you will see that you need 3 Vault Keys to open it. These Vault Keys can be found in the vicinity around the gate pretty easily. The Foggy Forest branch is behind this gate.
The First Key can be found by turning towards the right. Here, you will see some wreckage with some boxes nearby.
Near one of these wrecks, you can find a Dig Site which you can investigate. Investigating all the items will give you the first key.
After that, go back towards the gate and you should see a structure above the gate. Go up this structure and you will see a Chest that you can interact with. The Second Key is inside this Chest.
The Third Key is right above the Chest with the Second Key. It is in a Bird Nest at the top of this structure.
So, you will need to go further up the structure until you are at the apex. Watch your step when you investigate the Nest, and you will get all the Keys.
Now, you can return to the gate, and you will be able to open it. After opening the gate, you should be able to see the Foggy Forest Branch ready for you to take.
Foggy Forest Branch #2
The second Foggy Forest Branch can be located near a body of water in the following location on the map.
Near this body of water, you can find an Ousia Block as well.
After that, go into the water and you should see a Structure underwater.
Breaking this Structure will reveal a Chest. You can open this Chest to get the second Foggy Forest Branch.
Foggy Forest Branch #3
The third Foggy Forest Branch can be found in another body of water in the location shown below.
Instead of going inside, you first need to open a Portal. Look around the area at an elevation and you should be able to find a ball with a purple glow. This is a puzzle, and you need to hit it while aiming it towards the body of water.
After that, hit the ball, and the ball will enter the purple circle that is glowing above the water.
This will start a cutscene telling you that you did this part correctly. After that, you can dive into the water.
Dive to the bottom of this pool of water, and you can find a portal there. Select the Enter option to go through the Portal and get to another area.
When you reach the other side of the Portal, you will enter an underwater wreckage area. Here, you can find a bunch of Chests floating around. One of these Chests will have the third Foggy Forest Branch.
If you want to exit this area, you will need to Enter the Portal again to be able to return to where you were.
Foggy Forest Branch #4
The fourth Foggy Forest Branch can be located near a body of water in the location shown below.
When you reach the area, you should see a small floating blue orb above a rock. This is a Hydro Core and jump to it, to grab it.
After that, jump towards the rock above. There is a device where you can install the Hydro Core inside. Doing so, will activate a large blue gem nearby.
Now, you will need to use a ranged character to shoot the blue gem to activate it. We recommend someone like Amber, who has a bow and arrow. You can use her arrows to shoot this gem easily. The gem will activate when it changes color.
When it changes color, the lamps will start rotating. Some of them will be glowing while others will not be. Basically, the puzzle here is that you need to get all lamps shining. The lamps shine when they come into contact with water.
This means that they will glow when they enter the water below, in the range of the Hydro Core, and in range of the Hydro Core that is around you. There are two ways you can do this. Either you position yourself to make the relevant lamps glow.
Or you can shoot the gem again when there are two lamps under the water.
Either method should work, and you’ll know it worked when a Chest spawns near the water. Open this Chest and you will be able to unlock the fourth Foggy Forest Branch.
Foggy Forest Branch #5
The fifth Foggy Forest Branch can be located near a large pond in the location marked below.
The water will be corrupted and you will need to clear the enemies. First, you will need to take a blue orb that can be found near the pond. Interact with it and you should be able to get it.
After you have the orb, use it to kill the Green Enemies floating above the water. Make sure that you kill all of them. Doing so will remove the corruption from the water and clear it out. After that, you can dive into the water.
Go to the bottom of the pond and there will be a portal you can enter inside. Select the Enter option to go through the portal.
You will find yourself in an underground area after going through the Portal. There will be a Chest here that you can interact with. Open the Chest to get the fifth Foggy Forest Branch.
Foggy Forest Branch #6
The final Foggy Forest Branch can be found as part of a Challenge. The start of this Challenge is on a floating platform shown in the location below.
When you are in position, you can select the Start Challenge option.
You will basically need to collect all the blue orbs, or Hydro Particles, within the allotted time i.e. 45 seconds. The particles are arranged in a straightforward path that you can follow by gliding and then dropping down.
Keep in mind that there are some particles in the water too, so you will need to dive in to get those as well.
Once you complete the challenge, you can now exit the water using the Portal below. This will take you out of the water instantly. Near the water, a Chest should spawn and you can open it to get the final Foggy Forest Branch.
Where to Use Foggy Forest Branches
You can submit all your Foggy Forest Branches to an NPC by the name of Pahsiv that can be found in the game. Doing so will give you some great rewards. You can find the Pahsiv NPC in the location marked below.
There is a waterfall in this area, near the Loch Urania Spring. On the right side of this waterfall, there is a cave that you can enter inside.
Go through this cave, and the Pahsiv NPC will be on the left. Talk to the NPC and select the Branches option.
Now, you can submit all the Foggy Forest Branches you collected, and she will give you a big reward in return!

As you can see, most of these locations require you to perform some kind of task or solve a puzzle to be able to get them. Thankfully, you can actually get a reward out of all of this effort by talking to the Pahsiv NPC. It also gives you an interesting challenge that will take you all over the map!
