Learning what the best units are in a new game can be fun, but sometimes you just don’t have the time to test it all out.
Some games give you limited resources when starting and you can’t test all of them. No one wants to use their resources on a bad unit.
In Tower Defense X, there are no bad units in the game, but there are ones that are way better than the others.
In this guide, we’ll show you what are the best towers in the game through a tier list. Now let’s see what towers the game can give us, and which ones are the best!
Best Towers Tier List
There are a lot of different towers in Tower Defense X and each of them has its strengths and weaknesses.
Some of them are better overall due to the wide range of situations they can work in. The thing is you’ll need to buy and unlock them, and you’ll want to save your grinding for the best ones.
Tier lists are always subjective, and, in most cases, some towers are better than others for different people.
This list was made by the Tower Defense X content creator EfanGotU, so let’s find out what’s the best towers for him!
S – Tier
- Missile Trooper – One of the best towers you can get early and can even get you through a lot of maps. The top upgrade path is great for Easy, Intermediate, and even Elite maps.
- Patrol Boat – A must-have unit for water maps and with the recent buff to it the Patrol Boat is nothing short of amazing.
- Farm – An obvious pick as it helps you get a lot of cash for expensive towers and upgrades in higher difficulties.
- DJ – Another must-have unit that pairs well with other units because of its buff.
- Laser Gunner – The top upgrade path of this unit has a ton of DPS and can even easily clear the first few waves alone.
- Juggernaut – One of the best DPS units in the game and can be the bulk of your damage in later waves.
A – Tier
- Operator – The humvee ability is its strong point as well as its top upgrade path that has a lot of DPS.
- Mine Layer – Some of the maps in harder difficulties are impossible without this unit. A great final boss killer with the bottom upgrade path.
- Cyro Blaster – The bottom upgrade path of this unit helps greatly in higher-difficulty maps with chargers.
- Barracks – A great unit to have for clearing stragglers. Some maps can even be soloed in easier difficulties with just this tower.
- Artillery – A great support unit that deals a decent amount of damage and massive splash damage.
- John – One of the cheaper units to field and is great as a ‘decoy’ tower. The upgrade paths are also great for making it a DPS tower.
B – Tier
- Ranger – A great all-rounder tower that a lot of players get early on. It can have paths for DPS and even has some AOE capabilities.
- Sniper – Good amount of damage and can reveal stealth enemies. A great supporting unit.
- Shotgunner – A great unit for short and small maps with its amazing damage and AOE.
