You can be checking around for guides and for the best possible locations for Golden Chests where to spawn. This used to work like this, and a lot of people made tons of profit and found very valuable items in this way.
The important thing to know is that this got reworked. Golden Chests are no longer static and they do spawn only randomly right now.
A Gold Key is required to access a Golden Treasure Chest, which may be earned by trading 100 Silver Keys at Morco (Day Vendor). The chests have a long, random timer ranging from 12 to 18 hours. This makes it harder to locate a chest that has generated but has not yet been opened.
Some possible landmarks for spawning chests that might help you are:
- Treasure chests appear on every channel, thus swapping channels at one area (when you can) between traveling to else is a good idea.
- You can switch between channels that are actively involved in a node war without being affected by the cool-down! These channels still generate chests
