The Strongest Battlegrounds has a wide range of movesets inspired by various anime series. With each update, the developers either add new ones or change existing sets. Recently, they made the Atomic Samurai free, which means that everyone will get an opportunity to start practicing it. In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to get started with it!
Atomic Samurai Guide & How to Use
The Atomic Samurai moveset makes use of a katana, and its basic mouse 1 attack chain can knock enemies back much farther than usual to combo with its other skills.
In addition to that, it also has a passive ability wherein your next skill will have its cooldown significantlyreduced if you land a finisher. Here are its abilities:
- Quick Slice – The user will dash backwards and do a series of slashes in front of them. The dash can be somewhat controlled via turning.
- Atmos Cleave – The user launches their target and slashes them multiple times in the air before pushing them back into the ground.
- Pinpoint Cut – Forward dash followed by an aerial launch that is blockable. When jump is held while casting it, the user executes a diving attack instead.
- Split Second Counter – When struck while this is active, the attacker is briefly stunned and takes a bit of damage. This counter deals area of effect damage, so nearby targets will be hit too.
When casting your ultimate, Scorching Blade, you also gain access to the following skills for a short while:
- Sunset – A hard-hitting move that involves four slashes followed by a large area of effect attack that burns everybody nearby.
- Solar Cleave – Long range forward dash attack that will ragdoll any targets that are hit by it.
- Sunrise – Cinematic attack that cannot be escaped if it successfully hits.
- Atomic Slash – A really powerful one time use ability that has a long windup but cannot be countered or escaped.
Pinpoint Cut Tips
One thing to keep in mind when using Atomic Samurai is that his fourth hit during a regular mouse 1 attack chain will put the target at the perfect range for Pinpoint Cut.
This can be a risky maneuver, so another safer way to use this ability is by first doing a down slam. After that, immediately dash to the side and use Pinpoint Cut.
You can also simply cast Atmos Cleave first and then follow it up with Pinpoint Cut once you get back onto the ground.
The air variant of this move is best used as a way to open fights when somebody is approaching you. It can be hard to land during the encounter itself, so use it to surprise potential enemies.
Quick Slicing
Quick Slice can be used to catch your opponents by surprise. All you need to do is face the same direction as your target and use it while standing close to them.
This will almost always cause you to dash backwards at the perfect range to land all of the slashes. You can also do this after an Atmos Cleave if you reposition yourself fast enough while in the air.
Closing Tip
Finally, you can bait out a successful Split Second Counter by purposefully missing your basic attacks in front of an enemy. This will likely cause them to try and land their own move to try and punish you.
You can also pretend to be blocking, which most players will respond to by dashing behind you. This will give you the perfect opportunity to hit Split Second Counter successfully.
