Shards are the latest new mechanics in Arcane Lineage that shook various builds in the game. Depending on which shards you use, you’re going to want to adjust your playstyle. We’ll share which shards would be the better choice to plug into your equipment and which to avoid!
With that said, we suggest you know how to get a super class in the game. Here’s a guide on the Super Class in Arcane Lineage!
New Shards Guide
Every weapon in the game can have up to 7 shard slots. But by default, they have different amount of slots. To increase that slot, you need Arcanium Crystals and speak to the NPC inside this building in town.
Speak to him and tell him that you want to modify your weapon. Then, choose “I’d like to apply a Shard” and bring out whichever shard you want to infuse.
Shards have different chances of being successfully applied depending on the rarity. The rarer the shards, the less likely it is to be successfully applied.
- Faint shards have 70% chance of success.
- Weak shards have 60% chance of success.
- Strong shards have 50% chance of success.
- Pure shards have 40% chance of success.
- Radiant shards have 30% chance of success.
The NPC will also offer for a cost of 5,000 to increase the chance of success by an additional 5%. Which is worth to use on Radiant shards since they’re very rare as failure means destroyed shard.
If you’re currently endgame, the best shards to apply are the Pure and Radiant Shards. Other shards are pretty weak and not worth wasting your shard slot over. You can get Radiant Shards from Metrom’s Vessel and bosses. Pure Shards are easier to find from bosses and grinding in general.
Use the Tempurus Gem to remove any shard you don’t want on your weapon anymore.
The Best Shards To Use
Ther are various shards you can try to explore with but we’ve got thoughts on the best shards to use right now:
- Voltaic, currently one of the best as it allows you to recover energy while attacking.
- Striking, great for farming easy enemies as it greatly buffs your attacks to high HP foes (80% or above).
- Regenerative, this is a lifesteal shard great if you’ve been finding yourself unable to survive in a lot of fights.
Other shards like the Empowering and Reversing have been noted to not deal as much damage increase as one wanted. Shattering also depends on the status effects you can inflict on the enemy and the increase isn’t as satisfying.
