Tales of Tanorio has finally been released and allows players to experience a truly authentic Pokemon experience on Roblox. The game has so many features that help it truly shine as a monster taming game. As a result, you absolutely want to master them so that you can have a really strong start.
In this guide, we’ll be providing you with the best tips and tricks that you should know when playing Tales of Tanorio. They’ll make the game much easier for you, especially as you progress more. With that said, let’s dive in!
Best Tips & Tricks That You Should Know
We’ll be providing you with 6 tips and tricks that will make your experience with Tales of Tanorio a lot better. Also, consider checking out our Beginner’s Guide for Tales of Tanorio if you are just starting out with the game.
Tip #1 – Choose the Best Starter
When you’re starting out with Tales of Tanorio, you’ll be asked to pick a starter. There are a total of 3 Starters that you can choose in the beginning, with differing types. These are:
- Charcile – Fire type
- Rabush – Grass type
- Chewaqua – Water type.
If we’re looking at it in terms of the PvP mode that will be added to the game soon, the best Starter is arguably Rabush. He’s also really good if you are an absolute beginner since he can be used to clear the starting areas effectively.
However, we strongly suggest that you go for Charcile. This is because he is a Fire Type, and they are usually more stronger than other types. You’ll be facing quite a few bugs and grass type Tanorions too in the beginning, and Charcile can counter them really effectively.
Additionally, after Charcile evolves, he’ll become a Fire and Wind type. In this way, it’ll be able to counter even more Tanorions and also counter the Grass Type Tanorion that will appear in the Second Stadium. Our Which Starter To Choose guide can also provide you with additional insights!
Tip #2 – Take Advantage of Pity Punch
Another really useful tip we recommend utilizing is making sure you have a Tanorion with Pity Punch. Pity Punch is a move that certain Tanorions have that will make it much easier for you to catch Tanorions.
With Pity Punch, your Tanorion will use their fist but hold back their damage if the opponent is too damaged. So, you will never kill an opponent in one hit this way and leave them at 1 HP. As a result, you can then catch them when they are at their weakest.
Currently, there are two Tanorions that have access to the Pity Punch in the Tales of Tanorio:
- Bellbuzz (Recommended) – Found in Whispering Woods
- Evolution of Stagurai – Found in Nature Preserve (Route 4).
Bellbuzz is recommended because you will not have to worry about evolving it. But, of course, you can go with either one as long as you don’t mind going through the evolution process for Stagurai.
Tip #3 – Familiarize Yourself With Typings
Another extremely useful tip is to understand your Tanorian’s typings. You can do this by going into your Tanorions menu and clicking on each of them.
When you do so, you will be met with the following screen. Under your Tanorions name, you should be able to see what type it is. In the example below, the Tanorion is a Grass and Cosmic type.
Each type has its set of weaknesses and resistances. These weaknesses and resistances can stack up, or counter each other depending on the combination. For example, Grass is weak against air but Cosmic is strong against air. So, the Tanorion will end up having a neutrality towards Air overall.
The table below shows how each type stacks against other types in the game. It will allow you to understand whether your Tanorion has a good set of stacks against other Tanorions or not.
So, match the types against the Tanorions you currently have to maximize your output!
Tip #4 – Use the Unstuck Button To Save Time
When you’re playing Tales of Tanorio, you’ll find yourself stuck in places that you don’t really want to be in right now. Some of these places include The Mines. In these places, you’ll find that you can’t really use the travel mechanic to fast travel.
You’ll be met with the prompt shown below.
In these cases, there is a trick that you can actually use. Start by going into the Settings Menu.
Over here, click on the Unstuck Button option. Start by hitting this button once.
When you do that, you’ll find yourself in front of an entrance. Go through it and it will take you to the starting of the Mines area.
If you use the Unstuck button a second time here, you’ll find it actually takes you to the exit. A really handy trick that we recommend you use when you need it!
Tip #5 – Learn to Use Mounts
In Tales of Tanorio, you can not only use Tanorions in fights but also ride them! At some point in the game, at the Pontero Pasture location, you’ll get access to your first mount.
This is the Bjorkchop Mount that you can access in your Tanorions Menu by clicking on the Mounts option. It will equip automatically but you should hit the Use button just in case.
However, this will simply allow you to use the Mount and not equip it. To equip it, you’ll need to go into your running stance in the game. After that simply hit Shift on PC and you will automatically equip the mount.
For mobile players, you can do this by first using the Run button on the right side of your screen to go into the animation. After that, hit the Run button again to automatically equip your mount.
Additionally, there is another trick we recommend using when you are on your Mount. These are Mount Boosts!
When you are on your Mount, hit the spacebar and your mount will speed away quickly while turning red. It can allow you to cover distances much faster. For mobile users, you can activate speed boost by pressing the red button that appears after you’re on the mount.

Tip #6 – Learn to Switch Moves
There is a really cool feature in Tales of Tanorio, which allows you to swap out moves for your Tanorions. As you play through the game, you’ll come across a pop up that will say that your Tanorion has learned a new move.
However, at times, this message won’t pop up, which can be annoying.
So, a really useful tip you want to utilize is checking on your Tanorions from time to time. Start by clicking on your Tanorion in the Tanorions menu and hitting the Summary option.
After that, click on the Battle option that appears at the top. This will change the menu below and show you all the moves that your Tanorion currently has.
In this menu, you will see that there is a button that looks like a swirly icon. It’s shown below in the image.
Click on this button and you’ll be met with another menu. This menu will have even more moves, which your Tanorion actually learned with time. If there is a particular move that catches your attention, you can swap it out with equipped ones.
In this way, you can select the best moves for your Tanorion based on your play style!
That’s all the best tips and tricks that we believe you should know when playing Tales of Tanorio. We highly recommend implementing and learning them to up your game!
