Rune Factory 5 Crafting Beginner's Guide Updated 2022

Crafting has become a staple in RPG games. Crafting tends to hide some of the best gear and items out of reach of players who solely focus on getting gear and items from chests or slaying monsters. Players tend to miss out on the benefits of crafting, and it’s such a shame that they do. However, in this guide we’re here to show you that crafting early on in the game, especially for beginners to the series, is a must-do as you continue playing.

Crafting Beginner’s Guide – Rune Factory 5

First off in your journey to be a master crafter (which is probably not a thing), you need a license. Yes, yes, I know, a license to craft? Who knew that was needed? Does that mean Steve from Minecraft is crafting illegally without a license?

Getting the license is actually super easy though. All you have to do is speak to Eliza at her counter and take the test. If you want to do it the hard way, you can actually study for it. But if you don’t want to study and would rather cheat, then Google is your best friend.

After the test, you get your license and boom, you are now a certified licensed crafter. Take that, Minecraft Steve.

Once you get your license and crafting table, you will need recipes. While you can craft without recipes, it takes a large amount of RP from you, so It’s not beneficial to you. Instead, it’s recommended to just purchase recipes when you can. One of the places you can buy recipes from is the baking shop, which you should daily in order to get all of the bread recipes much early in the game.

Next up is an unconventional way to level up your crafters as fast as possible. You will need Turnip Seeds for this, so make sure you have at least 5 stacks of them. At a crafting table, select the highest-level recipe available. It’s usually at the bottom of the list. Then proceed to put a Turnip Seed in the crafting menu and put as much RP as you can. Select craft and it will fail.

Don’t worry, this is supposed to happen. You will then get a lot of failed materials in your inventory. Repeat the process again, except with the failed materials. Do this over and over again until you no longer can’t or you have reached maximum crafters level.

Next is upgrading, which is rather simple. Upgrading is as simple as putting in the weapon you want to upgrade and adding the ingredient. You will be shown the changes of the upgraded item before you actually upgrade it to get a better understanding of what you’re getting.

Take note that upgrading an item for each level will need different ingredients. That’s because every time you upgrade an item with the same ingredient you used last time, the effects of the upgrade will be halved to the point that upgrading will barely do anything anymore. Be sure to use a different ingredient for each level to avoid this debuff.

Some items to take note that adds great status effects to upgraded items: Magnifying Glass, Four-Leaf Clovers, Glitter Augite, Melody Bottle, and Love Crystal.
