Rust is a multiplayer-only survival game that was first released as an early access title in December 2013, and got to be fully released in February 2018. Until today, Rust is still receiving constant updates to its loyal player base. If you’re a new player to Rust, then you should know a few things first, like the outpost and what it does. To learn more, follow this guide and we’ll give you a quick rundown on what the outpost does and what you can do.

Outpost Guide to Quick Start Your Wipe – Rust

The outpost is a safe haven for you and your friends. You can drink water, cook food, and comfort heal in the safety of the outpost. Inside, you can trade stone for wood and finish the base quickly. Speaking of, the outpost also offers a jackhammer to buy. You can purchase it if you want to get an early start in expanding it.

If you have some crude oil from your journey to the outpost, you can easily craft your first furnace early on. This is also recommended. In fact, you can craft a lot of things in here, from items you can carry to outpost specific constructs. But these are very expensive and require a lot of resources, so you best be ready for them.

The workbench is also available to you for use. Here, you can craft a lot of the early in-game weapons. Also be sure to craft the bullets as well, as crafting the weapons won’t give you the necessary ammo along with it.

However, you can order ammo from the bandit camp by using the drones. But if you’d rather do it yourself and craft bullets, that’s also a valid option. Make sure to farm any of the materials in the area to help with the process. Not just for bullets, but also for the outpost in general.
