Clay is one of the main materials you are going to need to gather in No Rest for The Wicked. This material is mostly required to construct furniture or to make other craft recipes. However, it is not too easy to find and farm clay in the game. Luckily, knowing where you need to go is the key to find materials, and we are here to show you all the ways to farm clay in No Rest For the Wicked. Upon finishing this guide, you are going to be able to gather as many clay as you need in a very short period of time!
How To Farm Clay
When you need Clay, you have three options. These are:
- Dig Spots
- Finding them in chests
- Sacrament merchants
Dig Spots
If you have a shovel in your inventory, you can approach glowing piles of dirt strewn throughout the landscape. You should be prompted to dig up the ground to reveal the treasures within, which may contain clay, rare stones, and more.
You are going to be able to purchase one from the captive merchant in the Mariner’s Keep, but first you must rescue him. Luckily, the beginning location where your character is stranded is not far from The Mariner’s Keep.
The best way to do this would be create a new world, cast a return, and look up the rotation of the mat vendor.
The reason for that is that some players who have reached a high enough level (beyond level 15) are finding it difficult to obtain Clay from higher-level dig sites since other materials that are more suitable for their level are more likely to spawn. Therefore, mining Clay at a high level from high-level Realm dig locations is a little bit difficult.
If you are new in the game, stay in the Shallows area. This is important especially if you are still below levels 5 or 10. Before confronting the first boss, collect as much Clay as possible.
If you choose to create a new world and character, you can go to the route below.

Finding Clay in Chests
There are chests that light in the dark that you will find as you explore the realm. These chests are frequently filled with Clay, and opening them will only require you to partially sacrifice some of your health in order to battle any nearby foes. Nevertheless, as these drops are entirely random, you should hope for good fortune.
Sacrament Merchants
Purchasing Clay from merchants is the simplest way to obtain it in No Rest for the Wicked. Grinnich in Sacrament, for example, will offer you a chunk of clay for 14 copper.
However, this method is not free like the other ones and it might be a little bit pricey for you.
