Genshin Impact is a free-to-play multiplayer online game with plenty of playable characters. These characters need weapons in order to fight off the monster that you will come across in the world of Teyvat. Some of these weapons are free, while others you will need to purchase with the premium currency of Primogems. We will guide you on how you can get a free 4-star sword in Genshin Impact – the Cursed Blade.

Genshin Impact: How to Get Cursed Blade for Free

After the release of the Sumeru Teaser on 9th July, developers of Genshin Impact have revealed that there is something more that players can look forward to. The announcement speaks of a new 4-star weapon that Travelers can look forward to, and what’s more – it’s completely free.

The Cursed Blade is a Sword Type weapon which will be available once the new update of Genshin Impact 2.8 drops. All players will be eligible to get this sword once they fulfil the requirements. All you need to do is complete the new story quest that comes with it.

The quest that is supposed to be connected to the Cursed Blade has not yet been announced. However, it is speculated that it will be Kazuha’s quest, who is one of the playable characters returning to the game.

The base ATK of the Cursed Blade starts at 42, and goes up to 510 at the max level of 90. As with all other weapons, you can level up the sword with specific materials. Additionally, the second Stat Type of the Cursed Blade is ATK, which starts at 9% and goes to up 41.3%.

These are the materials that you will need to level up this weapon. You’ll also find the methods through which you can collect them:

  • Masked of the Wicket Lieutenant – Play the Court of Flowing Sand in Inazuma (Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday).
  • Gloomy Statuette – Defeat Abyss Herald, Abyss Lector, Black Serpent Knight, and Shadowy Husks.
  • Spectral Husk – Defeat any elemental Specter.

The Passive Skill of this weapon is the Hewing Gale, which will deal AoE damage equal to 180% of ATK. It will also increase ATK by 15% for eight seconds. As this is a quest reward, we don’t know yet if the Cursed Blade can be refined.
