As the tag line of this game implies, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has over a hundred characters for you to recruit to the resistance. Among them are people who specialize in non-combat tasks, and Durlan is just one of many examples. In this guide, we will briefly show you how to recruit him and what prerequisites might have to be met first.

How to Recruit Durlan

For this character, all you need to do is find him in the Abandoned Mine. The quickest way to reach him is through the well in the courtyard of your castle.

Refer to our guide on what to do after getting the base in case you have forgotten about it, as this is also where you go to recruit Ormond.

Durlan can be found at the highlighted spot of the map image below. All you need to do is speak with him and he will agree to join the resistance without really asking for anything in return.

One thing to note, however, is that he might not be recruitable until much later in the game. Basically, you might have to upgrade your HQ to level 3 first, and this will not be possible until you reach a certain part of the story.

This is because the upgrade itself will require some Excellent Lacquer. We have a guide on how to get Excellent Lacquer in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes with more detailed information, and you should check that out if you haven’t gotten any yet.

You might also need to build the Mission Guild first, which will require you to have at least one Dire Beastbone. We have a guide on how to find Dire Beastbone that will help you with this.

Durlan is particularly useful for missions that reward you with stone and ore. This makes him an ideal party member for something like the “Patrol Eastern Trade Route” or “Rare Stone” missions.

And that is everything you need to know in order to recruit the old stonemason Durlan in the game, who is just one of many other useful characters to have. While you are here, we also have complete guide on recruiting all the characters or heroes in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Make sure to check it out as well!
