Whether you’re facing someone new to fighting games or they are just abusing a powerful attack over and over again, spamming is something that you will inevitably have to deal with in MultiVersus. In this guide, we’ll share with you a few tips on how to deal with players who mainly just spam stuff.
How to Deal With Spammers
The first and most obvious bit of advice that we can give you is to first keep calm. Tilting will only make things worse for you, so keep a level head and analyze what your opponent is trying to achieve.
In this case, they’re obviously doing the same move over and over again. As with any fighting game, you almost always have an opportunity to punish this. Super armor or dodging is also an option, but you’ll need to fight back eventually.
Even if you get hit a couple of times, you’ll inevitably find a move that can counter them. Ironically, you can spam whatever that is to beat them at their own game. If they don’t know how to adapt, which they likely won’t, then it’s a free win for you.
The same logic applies to button mashing players. The only difference is that they will be way more unpredictable. For these players, just wait for them to do a punishable move, which is inevitable.

Dealing With Flowchart Spammers
What I refer to as “flowchart spammers” are players who do have a set strategy, but are not really able to adapt beyond that. These are typically newer players who have hit the lab and have figured out a basic combo or two, but that’s about it.
More experienced players will eventually recognize the pattern/s that this type of spammer will have, and once you figure out the appropriate way to punish this, their gameplan will crumble.
Speaking from experience, as we have all been one of these at some point, flowchart spammers may have a backup plan if their combo fails. Just step back and pay close attention to what they’re doing to figure out the proper counter.
Another way to counter these types of players is to simply use projectiles to zone them out. If they are on the less experienced end of the spectrum, this will likely completely nullify their entire gameplan.
If you do get caught by whatever combo they’re trying to pull off, you’re not completely helpless. If you can figure out which directions their string is pushing you towards, you can potentially wiggle your way out of their juggle by moving the opposite way at the right time.
And those are pretty much all of the tips we can give you when it comes to dealing with players who spam the same things over and over again. It’s really just a matter of game knowledge, and if you require more, check out our guide on how to improve your movement in MultiVersus!
