Rubber Bandits: Beginners Guide

Welcome to the wacky multiplayer party brawler game that is Rubber Bandits!

Rubber Bandits Beginners Guide

If this game flew under your radar, it’s time to change that! It’s an amazing brawler game, packed with loads of fun presented to players in a very simplistic manner. No complicated mechanics, no knowledge or experience requirements – just pure fun! We’ll show you how to play Rubber Bandits in this beginners guide.

Beginners Guide – Rubber Bandits

First of all, let’s discuss the game modes that we are offered in Rubber Bandits.

Available game modes are:

  • Heist This mode is primarily oriented towards gathering money by picking it up and stacking as much of it as possible. At the end of the round, your goal is to have the most money out of the 2-4 players that are participating. If you manage to do that, you’ve won.
  • Brawl – In comparison with the Heist mode, Brawl revolves a lot more around PVP (player-versus-player) combat. With everyone having 3 lives, your goal is to be the last remaining player after everyone’s lives have been exhausted.
  • Arcade – this one can be played in either single or multiplayer mode. The premise of Arcade is similar to that of the Heist mode, as your goal here is to collect money too. However, in this case, your goal is to get money to pass the level – there are a total of 26 levels. All levels must be completed in one session. However, you do have infinite lives so that makes it that much easier.

To switch between modes simply load into the lobby area, also known as “ The Jail”, get to the second floor and hit the sign on your left. This will open up the modes menu and let you choose.

Game Mode – Heist

Your main focus in this mode is money, as you might’ve guessed by now.

You want to collect as much money as possible and run through the exit (that is once it opens). The amount of money you collect will count towards your total score, which is obviously the deciding factor.

This part will happen only if there is cash remaining on the map (total of 10 spawns per round).

Once you’ve gone through the exit door with your cash (and there is some cash left on the map), you’ll have 5-10 seconds of AFK time before you respawn onto the map.

This time, however, you’re spawning as a cop! Your job, as a cop, is to go after those remaining on the playing field. You’re equipped with a super strong taser, don’t hesitate to use it!

Once you taze those with cash, you can collect it – this time though, no one can punch you and steal it back. When you pick it up, it’s permanently gone and it doesn’t count towards your score.
Once you’ve picked up all the cash, the round ends and you move on to the next round.

Pro Tip: if you’re playing versus 3 other people, try to get a gun or another similar weapon instead of going for the cash. Once everyone is stacked on top of each other fighting melee for the cash, you can mow them down with whatever sort of gun you’ve acquired and run away with the loot!

Don’t be fooled by the goofy looks of the game – it’s a warzone out there!

Game Mode – Arcade

The Arcade mode is very similar to the Heist mode, as both are oriented towards collecting money.

There are a couple of big differences, however, that make Arcade the unique experience that it is.

It’s entirely PVE (player-versus-environment) – this means that you’re going to fight exclusively against AI-controlled cops. Their job is to chase you down and taze you, thus costing you one life. If they do this 3 times, you’re going to have to restart that level, however your total progress is thankfully saved.

In this mode, your primary objective is to evade the cops while eliminating them one at a time.

You can do this by running, picking up a throwable object then briefly turning around and sniping one of the cops. Rinse and repeat this process until you’ve cleared the whole wave of them, or until you’ve successfully exited the level with your loot.

You can team up with friends and random players alike. The game even has crossplay enabled, so finding 3 people for your game shouldn’t be difficult or time-consuming at all!

Absolute chaos is inevitable – more people, more chaos!

Game Mode – Brawl

There is not a lot to be said about this mode as it’s very, very straightforward. You can only play versus real players here, as there’s no option to add AI-controlled bots.

You spawn onto a map against 1-3 other players and your objective is to outlive them all. There are many “strategies” out there on how to do this best, however in the midst of chaos, no strategy is going to be a guaranteed win for you.

Everyone has 3 lives, and a short grace period after each death, meaning that you’re immune to punches for a few seconds after getting up. Use this to your advantage and smash as many people as possible.

Something to keep in mind here is that guns often spawn on these maps. There’s a ton of variety as to which gun will spawn, seeing as you can get an ice-cube gun or an old-school Uzi (MAC-10 for CS fans). There’s a minigun as well as a laser gun in the game, so.. beware.

Pro Tip: be subtle. There is no need to be in the middle fighting for no reason. Sometimes, it’s better to stay on the side, try not to catch a cone in your head and wait for a gun to spawn.

Keeping a low profile and using each life you have as smart as possible is likely to get you wins.

Here’s the menacing laser gun I mentioned… worried yet?

Professional Advice: Have Fun!

The main point of this game is to have goofy fun and enjoy the chaos as it unravels.

Play with friends in Brawl –  feel the taste of betrayal as you start getting coned in the head from behind.

Play single player through the Arcade mode, evade arrest for 26 levels in a row, and be victorious!

That’s all for our beginners guide for Rubber Bandits. Hope this helps!
