In Once Human, there are weird entities known as Deviations that can help you in different aspects, such as Combat and Territory. You will come across many of these Deviations as you play the game. You will need a special unit where you can hold them in your base.

This is known as the Isolated Securement Unit. But how exactly can you build one in Once Human? We’ve got you covered with this guide and the exact steps you need to follow. Without further delay, let’s get into it!

How To Build Isolated Securement Unit

To be able to build the Isolated Securement Unit, you will need to progress a bit through the story of Once Human. That means following all the mission objectives you see on the top left of your screen.

Eventually, you’ll come across a mission where you have to place a Butterfly Emissary into an Isolated Securement Unit. You’ll be able to get this for free, and should be able to build more.

Later on, you’ll come across a point where you need to build more of these units. So, here are the steps you need to follow to be able to build an Isolated Securement Unit in Once Human:

  1. Open the Build menu and gather the necessary resources
  2. Craft and Place the Isolated Securement Unit
  3. Interact with it to place any Deviation you want inside.

Open The Build Menu

Starting off, you’ll need to actually unlock the Isolated Securement Unit blueprint in Once Human. As mentioned before, you’ll need to progress through the story until you come across the first Isolated Securement Unit you’re given for free.

After that, press the B button to open up your build menu. Over here, select the Facilities tab at the top of the menu followed by the Function Facility sub tab.

Here, you should be able to find the Isolated Securement Unit. If not, this means you will likely need to proceed through the Once Human story until it appears there.

Craft and Build It

Now that you’ve found the Isolated Securement Unit blueprint, it’s time to craft it with the required resources. Here are the resources you’ll need in Once Human to build the Isolated Securement Unit:

  • x20 Metal Scraps
  • x15 Copper Ingots
  • x10 Glass

Getting Glass can be a bit confusing, especially if you are just starting out. You can craft Glass by using a Furnace, which you should already have in your starter base. You can also craft the Furnace from the same build menu where you found the Isolated Securement Unit.

Once you have the Glass and other resources, craft the Isolated Securement Unit. You’ll see the silhouette for it appear as you get to choose where you want to place it. Select a spot you think looks good and place it down to successfully build it!

Using Isolated Securement Unit

Finally, we’ll briefly look at how you can use the Isolated Securement Unit in Once Human. As mentioned before, you’ll be using it to store any Deviations that you come across.

To store them, first interact with the Isolated Securement Unit. After that, a list will appear which has all your Deviations. You can place one Deviation inside one of these units.

So, if you plan to put other Deviations you have, you will need to craft even more Isolated Securement Units. As long as you have the resources, you should be able to make plenty of them!

That’s everything you need to know about building the Isolated Securement Unit in Once Human. The process is pretty simple and you’ll be able to store quite a collection of Deviations in this way.

One Deviation that you’ll come across is the Butterfly, which you can use in Combat. Using this Deviation can be a bit confusing for new players. Check out our How To Use Butterfly Guide so you can make the best use of it once you acquire it!
