Aoi Todo Complete Guide & How To Easily Time Black Flash + Tips
Aoi Todo, just like all the other characters in the game, has his own unique set of techniques and tricks that vary in different ways. In this guide, we’ll show you how to master all of Todo’s skills, how to fully play Todo, some tricks on using Todo, and the best way to easily time Black Flash.
You’ll find Todo on the Second page of the character selection. He’ll be the 3rd one in the Jujutsu Kaisen roster with Itadori, Gojo, and Sukuna.
Here is the Table of Contents that you can use to navigate through the various parts of the guide.
Now, let’s start the guide with Todo’s moves.
Todo’s Moves
Todo has 4 moves, which are:
- Boogie Woogie
- Rubble Smash
- Black Flash
- Boogie Kicks
Boogie Woogie
With this move, the game allows you to place a target on your enemy and learn how far away the target is standing from you.
The target is colored green for closer more accessible targets and Red for the further ones. Red targets typically mean those targets that your move range will not reach at the moment (unless you get closer to the red targets.)
Boogie Woogie allows you to switch places with your targeted, locked-on enemy by clapping. This is how it works:
- If you’re locked onto a single enemy (with a green target) and you press M1, you switch places with that enemy.
- When you’re locked onto two enemies and you press 1, you make those two enemies switch places between each other.
- When you’re extremely close to a targetted green enemy and you press M1 to switch places with them, you can down-kick slam them.
Rubble Smash
The second move is called the Rubble Smash. When you activate rubble smash, you’ll end up throwing small blue glowing rocks.
If you use your first move and face the rocks, you’ll notice that you can place a target on these rocks, as well. This ultimately means that you can switch places with these rocks. Similarly, with boogie woogie, you can also switch places between two rocks just as described earlier.
Black Flash
There are two Black Flash. One is the regular Black Flash and the other is the total Black Flash.
Black Flash is performed when you activate the move. For Total Black Flash, here’s what you need to keep in mind:
- After using Black Flash, you’ll need to use M1 when you zoom out, not while you’re zooming in.
- Other characters’ Black Flash is performed during the zoom in, but it is not the same case here.
- Immediately after the zoom in animation ends, and your character zooms out, that’s when you press M1 to activate Total Black Flash.
- You can perform Black Flash on your opponent as you toss them in the air.
- You can also perform Total Black Flash on your opponent while you’re at a small distance because this move will bring you toward them and stop you at your target so you can perform the move.
Boogie Kick
Todo’s fourth ability is called Boogie Kick where you throw your opponent into the air.
Kicking them into the air will leave a small blue glowing rock behind. Here’s the best way to use Boogie Kick:
- When you use Boogie kick on your enemy, activate Boogie Woogie.
- Immediately after your opponent lands back on the ground, right behind the blue rock, you’ll need to have your green target activated on both the opponent and the rock
- Make the rock and your opponent switch places to perform Boogie Kick once again.
- Practice and learn to perform this move fast leaving your opponent no time to react when he lands back on the ground.
- Ensure that you press 1 and not M1 when switching places between two targets.
- You can also perform your upper kick slam with M1 as a combo (when you’re close to the opponent)
Boogie Kick has a lot of range allowing you to perform moves from afar. This also lets you step back and gives you time before performing another boogie kick as your opponent lands back on the ground.
You can also use Total Black Flash with the combo above after switching places between the rock and the opponent. These moves where you switch places essentially catch your enemy off-guard which gives you a good enough window to perform various moves, as you perform Boogie Woogie and make the switch again to perform another move.
Similarly, you can do the same with Rubble Smash and bigger rocks. Here are some Combos you can look at.
Todo’s Combos
- Combo 1: Rubble Smash + Boogie Woogie + 1 + Total Black Flash
- Combo 2: Boogie Kick + Boogie Woogie + 1 + Boogie Kick
- Combo 3: Boogie Kick + Boogie Woogie + 1 + Total Black Flash

Todo’s Awakening
In Todo’s awakening animation, there’s a schoolgirl by his side. The schoolgirl is Todo’s Idol. The awakening summons the same girl to be in the match.
In Todo’s Awakening, he has 5 skills in total and an M1:
- Todo’s M1
You’re going to be doing double M1s because this time you’re performing M1s alongside your idol.
- Boogie Woogie
The awakening’s Boogie Woogie is the same as the original one but this time it uses M2. The concept where you select multiple opponents and either have them switch among themselves or you teleport into their spot is the exact same.
- Idol Punch
This move has your Idol punch your opponent. For the range, as long as the opponent gets hits by the hearts, that’s how you’ll know that they are within range for your Idol to punch them.
- True Heart Strikes
This move punches your opponent and creates a combo where they’ll be punched while in the air with hearts forming around them.
- Tantaka-tan
This move will have a bunch of combo extenders where both you and your idol are throwing many rapid punches at your opponent.
- Final Boogie
With Final Boogie, you summon Itadori to perform a Black Flash on your target. The move deals 75 DMG. You’ll want to perform the Final Boogie when your Awakened form is coming to an end.
Itadori from the Final Boogie can break your target’s block, as well. All moves in Todo’s Awakening form are combo extenders and therefore, you can start your combo off with any of the awakening moves.
Here are some tips to consider before we conclude the guide.
Tips
- You can come up with more combos as you use the switch due to the time it gives while your opponent has their guard down. The key is to be quicker with Todo and to avoid switching Todo’s place during combos because it will confuse you a bit.
- Try using your rocks to your advantage to transport opponents/rocks or yourself into a desirable position where you can easily defeat them
- When they’re blocking, you can still transport a character to another position.
Todo is considered to be a highly underrated character as most players shift their focus to Sukuna during the new update. He has amazing combos and moves in Awakening that you can utilize to dominate the field and win many battles.
