In the new RPG game Black Myth: Wukong which is based on a Great Classical Novel of Chinese literature, you play as the Destined One. A Gourd or Flask for drinks is an essential element that allows you to heal amid boss battles or on the go.
If you’re looking for some around the map, this guide will help you find all the Gourd in the game.
All Gourd Locations
Gourds are scattered across the regions and you’ll typically find them inside glowing kettles. You get a chance to access more Gourds as you complete chapters along the way. Keep reading for the complete walkthrough on how to find each Gourd from each chapter.

Chapter 1: Black Wind Mountain
You can obtain 2 Gourds from Chapter 1.
Gourd #1: Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd
This first Gourd is obtained as a Pre-Order Bonus. This Gourd can be redeemed from any shrine.
Properties: the Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd gives 5 Heals. Once the Gourd is full, the first sip replenishes to your character’s full Health
Gourd #2: Old Gourd
Other names: Medicine Gourd, Healing Gourd, Medicine Sage Gourd and Medicine Master Gourd
You start your journey with Old Gourd which shows up in your inventory automatically at the beginning of the game. The name of this Gourd changes as you use Luojia Fragrant Vines to upgrade it. The different names assigned to this Gourd indicate different upgrade levels.
You can upgrade your Gourds at any point when you’ve collected enough Luojia Fragrant Vines. All you need to do is go to Shen Monkey Merchant from Chapter 1 Bamboo Grove in Marsh of White Mist.
Once fully upgraded to 10 healing charges, the Gourd transforms into Supreme Gourd. The further you upgrade it, the more healing charges it gets.
Chapter 2: Yellow Wind Ridge
You can obtain 1 Gourd from Chapter 2.
Gourd #3: Plaguebane Gourd
Properties:
The Plaguebane Gourd gives 5 Heals. Your Health recovery will be halved, but Attack will increase for a short duration upon using the gourd.
You’ll find the chest behind a hidden boss named Mad Tiger. Here are the steps to find Mad Tiger’s location.
Location: First, you’ll need to defeat the “Tiger’s Acolyte” boss to obtain the Old-Rattle Drum key. You can find the boss at Yellow Wind Formation: Windrest Hamlet on the bridge next to the shrine. You’ll need to use the Old Rattle Drum in 3 locations.
- Yellow Wind Formation | Windseal Gate: Take the left path and cross a bridge. Once you’re on the other side of the bridge turn left to enter a side location. At this point, your screen should turn gray. Simply interact with the environment to activate Old-Rattle Drum and defeat the Withered Corpses.
- Yellow Wind Formation | Windrest Hamlet: When you reach the shrine of this location, go downstairs and then go past a gate. Explore the side of the village and use the Rattle Drum to summon some more Withered Corpse enemies.
- Sandgate Village | Village Entrance: From this shrine, cross the bridge and turn right to enter a village. You should find a meadow on the left side of the village. You’ll also encounter the chief “Earth Wolf” boss. At the side of the area, your screen will turn grey once again to which you’ll have to interact and use the Old-Rattle Drum. This will trigger a cutscene where once it’s over, you have to jump into the well.
The Mad Tiger will appear. Upon defeating him, you can open the black chest at the back of the arena to obtain the Plaguebane Gourd.
Chapter 3: The New West
You can obtain 2 Gourds from Chapter 3.
Gourd #4: Jade Lotus Gourd
- Properties:
Gives 6 Heals where you recover a good amount of Health for your nearby Duplicates.
- Location: Bamboo Grove | Marsh of White Mist.
Fast travel back to Chapter 1’s location and go to the Shen Monkey Merchant. The Jade Lotus Gourd becomes available at his store once you start Chapter 3. You can purchase the Gourd to obtain it.
Gourd #5: Fiery Gourd
- Properties:
Gives 7 Heals. Increases Maximum Stamina for a short duration and grants chill immunity.
- Location: Valley of Ecstasy | Mindfulness Cliff
Upon reaching the shrine, walk straight and you’ll find wooden boards. Drop down from the right side of the boards and walk up the path. You’ll eventually reach a wooden chest that you can open to obtain this item.
Chapter 4: The Webbed Hollow
You can obtain 2 Gourds from Chapter 4.
Gourd #6: Xiang River Goddess Gourd
- Properties:
Gives 8 Heals. Grants immunity from lava terrain for a small duration and a moderate amount of Burn Resistance
- Location: Webbed Hollow | The Verdure Bridge:
After reaching the shrine, take a left. Continue heading left until there’s a cutscene. The cutscene will feature a lady throwing knives at lanterns. Once the cutscene is over, you’ll find a room with 5 golden treasure chests. The gourd is in those chests.
Gourd #7: Stained Jade Gourd
- Properties:
Gives 7 Heals and increases drinking speed by a massive amount.
- Location: Secret Area “Purple Cloud Mountain”
You obtain the Stained Jade Gourd as a reward for beating boss “The Scorpionlord” in Chapter 4. To reach this secret area, you’ll need to defeat the Venom Daoist boss in two different locations:
Location 1: Webbed Hollow | Pool of Shattered Jade
Take a right turn from the shrine, and go up the path where you’ll find big spider cocoons hanging from the ceiling. Attacking the cocoon will trigger Venom Daoist to fight. If you win the fight, he runs away and you’ll need to find him in the second location.
Location 2: Temple of the Yellow Flower | Court of Illumination
Turn in the opposite direction when you reach the shrine and take the path. Once the path splits, take a left until you trigger a cutscene with until there’s a cutscene with the Venom Daoist once again. (he’ll only show up if you’ve defeated him in location 1). Venom Daoist has two phases, each phase with a full bar of health.
After you defeat him, interact with the wall to enter the secret area “Purple Cloud Mountain”. After reaching the first shrine, head to the right edge of the area. The Scorpionlord boss behind another shrine called “Bounds of Deity’s Abode”
Destroy the kegs below and trigger the fight.
Chapter 5: Flaming Mountains
You can obtain 2 Gourds from Chapter 5.
Gourd #8: Immortal Blessing Gourd
- Properties:
Gives 8 Heals. Your Health recovery will be halved, but Attack will increase for a short duration upon using the gourd.
- Location: Bamboo Grove | Marsh of White Mist.
Fast travel back to Chapter 1’s location and go to the Shen Monkey Merchant. The Immortal Blessing Gourd becomes available at his store once you start Chapter 5. You can purchase the Gourd to obtain it. But first, you’ll need Buddha’s Left Hand and Buddha’s Right Hand.
Buddha’s Right Hand: Dropped by the unmissable main story boss, located in Chapter 4 “Buddha’s Right Hand”.
Buddha’s Left Hand: Dropped by the boss called “Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw“ in Chapter 4 Webbed Hollow, Lower Hollow.
To find Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw, take a left turn from the shrine and enter the tunnel. On the left side of the wall inside the tunnel, there’s a crack. Squeeze through it and look for a meditation spot. On the left side of the meditation area, you’ll find a corridor that leads you to the frog boss.
Gourd #9: Supreme Gourd
- Properties: The Supreme Gourd is the best Gourd in the game. It is orange in your inventory (Mythical grade) and has 10 healing charges.
- Location: Furnace Valley | Rakshasa Palace
Upon reaching the location, head upstairs and over the bridge. After which you’ll take the left path that will lead you to a room with an Old Man NPC. Interact with him and then with the fire in the middle of the same room to upgrade your gourd to the “Supreme Gourd”.
You can only interact with the fire if you’ve upgraded your Gourd to 9 Healing Charges
Chapter 6: Mount Huaguo
Gourd #10: Multi-Glazed Gourd
- Properties:
Gives 6 Heals. Significantly increases Attack for a short duration.
- Location: Bamboo Grove | Marsh of White Mist.
Fast travel back to Chapter 1’s location and go to the Shen Monkey Merchant. The Multi-Glazed Gourd becomes available at his store once you start Chapter 6.
