Black Myth: Wukong, just like other games like it, allows you to upgrade various essential items by finding certain ingredients hidden all around the world. In this case, players can upgrade their gourd by using Luojia fragrant vines. These can be found in pretty much every chapter, and in this guide, we’ll show you how to get the ones in the second part of the story.
Chapter 2 Luojia Fragrant Vine Location
In order to reach the Luojia fragrant vines hidden in chapter 2, you will first need to progress far enough to reach either the Stone Vanguard or the Tiger Vanguard bosses. These two will be in the way of one Luojia fragrant vine each.
This guide will be assuming that you have already gone through both of them, as the fights themselves are beyond the scope of what we’re covering here and might take you a while to complete.
Chapter 2 – Stone Vanguard Path
First up, you will want to head past the ruined archway that the Stone Vanguard was protecting. There will be a shrine here that you should activate, especially since here is a potential one shot nearby.
After that, just keep following the dirt road forward, and then take a right as soon as you can, right before the mage enemy that can deplete your health in a single spell.
Keep going in this direction until you run into a ledge that leads down to a long downward slope of sand. What you must do now is jump on the sand to initiate a short sliding section, in which you will also be attacked by ranged enemies.
Don’t worry, they will hardly, if ever, hit you. At the end, you will reach the Windseal Gate shrine. Activate this and we can proceed. You will also receive the A Pluck of Many spell from the headless musician here.
From there, continue following the path and you will eventually reach a small cave. As soon as the lighting adjusts and makes things clearer, you should be able to see the Luojia fragrant vine glowing in one corner.
Unfortunately, it is guarded by a mini boss known as the Gore-Eye Daoist. I don’t really have much advice to give you here, as he isn’t really that tough of an enemy.
Just avoid the red puddles and keep your distance whenever he winds up an attack. You can make quick work of him with your new Strand ability too, as your clones will constantly get his attention and potentially even stagger him.
After you have defeated the Gore-Eye Daoist, just grab the vine and then we can leave! Keep in mind that there are also a couple of weasel captains hanging out nearby, and they might aggro you during the fight.
Chapter 2 – Tiger Vanguard Path
Next up, you will have to go to the Windrest Bridge shrine. This is the one that you can unlock after the fight with the Tiger Vanguard. If you haven’t fought him yet, all I can really tell you is that he gets really dang easy once you memorize his attacks.
From there, just go through the bridge and then head past the blocked gate by going either to the left or the right. Either way, you’ll find yourself in another linear path with various enemies, including a shield wielding yaoguai.
At the end, you will find a doorway, which, if it’s still closed, means that you will have to fight a group of three Rat Imperial Guards. You can actually see them perched above the door, and one of them drops a spirit.
Once all three Rat Imperial Guards have been defeated, you can now open the door. From there, just walk through and then turn right. You should see the second Luojia fragrant vine of this chapter right there.
And that wraps up this guide, as there aren’t really any more to be found in this chapter. Now you can upgrade your gourd again at least once or twice!
On that note, check out our guide on how to return to previous chapters in Black Myth: Wukong if you aren’t sure how to do that, since you will need to travel back to the chapter 1 zone to use these vines at Shen Monkey! However, we also have a guide for all Luojia Fragrant Vines locations too!
