SMITE 2 is now playable if you managed to get an invite to the alpha test or have bought your way in through its founder packs. If you are trying to sweat it this early, you’re going to be gravitating towards the best gods in the current meta, but who are considered to be the best right now? This tier list will try to answer that question for you.

Best Gods for Ranked Tier List | Alpha Version

Before we begin, let me preface this by saying that this tier list is purely subjective and is based on the general opinions of the community. On top of that, the game is still in very early alpha, which means that a lot is still subject to change.

With all of that in mind, let’s go through each of the gods and rank them from best to worst as seen in how they perform in the current state of the game!

SMITE 2 tier list for all gods

S Tier

  • Fenrir – He can deal a ton of damage and even chunk you at level 1. Just an absolute menace of a jungler or solo laner.
  • Jing Wei – Jing Wei has some insane damage output and mobility right now, making her an obvious top tier choice right now. She is very likely to get nerfed at some point.
  • Susano – Can be extremely annoying to deal with right now, and he can easily bully more vulnerable gods.
  • Bacchus – Has an insanely powerful kit right now and can be a huge pain in the rear to be against.
  • The Morrigan – Not only is her kit solid, she can straight up just transform into an exact copy of any god (relic included) currently in the match, which can potentially be OP.

A Tier

  • Ares – This god has some pretty good team-wide buffs and has a solid ultimate. Far from bad, and not at all OP.
  • Mordred – Strong solo laner that has some decent damage potential.
  • Odin – Very versatile god that can fill for various roles. Just pretty good overall.
  • Anhur – He is a pretty solid choice right now as he is a hard hitter with some decent crowd control options. His Shifting Sands ability in particular can be really annoying to deal with.
  • Neith – Despite some recent balance changes, she remains a strong pick with a very impactful ultimate ability.

B Tier

  • Bellona – Some balance changes in recent times have put her in a weird spot where she isn’t necessarily bad, but other tankier gods can easily outclass her.
  • Hecate – Her kit does some pretty neat things, and she has some alright damage and utility.
  • Chaac – He is a decent god to play as, but he stumbles into this tier due to his weird scaling that makes it hard to figure out a definitive build for him.
  • Hades – He is sitting comfy in the “average” tier at the moment as he is easily outclassed by a lot of other gods due to recent balance changes.
  • Loki – Pretty solid god right now, though highly dependent on player skill and successful ganks or winning fights in general.
  • Sol – Sol can dish out some decent damage, but she is currently outclassed by gods with more reliable and/or impactful kits.
  • Thanatos – While he isn’t necessarily bad, he can feel a bit clunky especially when your targets are using some form of anti-heal against you.
  • Ymir – Just like a lot of the gods in this category, he is just outclassed by other gods that have very similar kits.
  • Zeus – He is just seen as an average pick right now, though he has the potential to be pretty good in the right hands and with certain builds.

C Tier

  • Athena – Her kit just feels very lackluster in its current state and she could be much better with a few balance changes.
  • Cernunnos – His whole kit is just pretty “meh”, and while he isn’t really “bad”, there’s just much better options right now.
  • Anubis – Anubis is in a pretty weird spot at the moment as his damage can be pretty fine and his abilities can be impactful. Unfortunately, building him is pretty awkward with the current state of the game’s items.
  • Kukulkan – Kuku is just in a pretty terrible spot right now and could use a little love from the devs.

And that concludes this tier list, which will hopefully help you choose what gods to gravitate towards in this very early stage of the game’s lifespan. While you’re here, check out our list of all the items in SMITE 2’s alpha version as well to start theorizing on what builds to go for!
