Shonen Smash: Best Character Tier List

It’s like Smash but with anime characters.

Shonen Smash is a Roblox game that is very obviously inspired by Super Smash Bros. from Nintendo. The game features a 2D platform fighting style that is reminiscent of the game it’s inspired from. The characters featured in the game are all mostly from anime franchises but there’s a couple from video games as well like Yu Narukami from the Persona series. The game only has a handful of characters to use right now but already people are debating which ones are the best. In this tier list, I will show you the best and worst Shonen Smash characters to use in the game.

Best Character Tier List

Tier list for Shonen Smash.

Before we start, please bear in mind that this is list is 100% opinionated. This tier list is not meant to be taken as the definitive tier list that trumps other tier list. This was created by looking at the major opinions of the community as of the moment. It’s also subject to change as more characters gets added.

S Tier

  • Mage – Mage is a top tier character for all the wrong reasons. It’s not because you can pull of sick combos that can get your enemy from 0% to 100%. It’s because currently, Mage can spam his attacks almost incessantly without any fail whatsoever. There is currently not enough delay for you to fight back once the spam starts.
  • Swordsman – Swordsman has an advantage over other characters that most don’t have: reach. The sword the Swordsman uses can reach up to 2 to 3 feet in front of the character, allowing them to safely attack from a good distance while other characters have to get up and close.
  • Luffy – This one is very split in the middle because not a lot of people believe that he’s good. Luffy is a character that, just like the Swordsman, has a lot of range when it comes to attacks. One of his abilities allows him to stretch his arms backwards and fling them to the front, doing some serious range damage. But not only that, he has the best combo potential as well.
  • Kaz – Kaz is a popular favorite among the community. Solely due to the fact that he can counter attacks with a timed Reflex Stance. He is the only character in the game that can counter enemy attacks and once you master the counter, you are essentially a Dark Souls player in Shonen Smash.

A Tier

  • Goku – Goku is a character in Shonen Smash that is actually very good, but falls flat due to the fact that there are other characters that play better than him. He has decent combos and decent abilities, but they don’t offer much compared to those in S tier.
  • Naruto – Naruto is a fantastic character that is being held down by the fact that he doesn’t have an ultimate or a finisher as of this time. He could easily be S Tier thanks to his shadow clones but without an ultimate, he’s not really better than Goku.

B Tier

  • Brawler – Brawler, compared to the Mage and Swordsman, doesn’t really have much to offer. Ironically, the fighter with the name Brawler doesn’t really have a lot of combos compared to Mage and Swordsman. Still a fine character to use but when you could use Mage or Swordsman, Brawler just doesn’t seem like the best option.
  • FlameCharmer – FlameCharmer has the potential to be great because unlike most characters in the game, FlameCharmer gains more attacks when crouching. Not even the top tier characters in S Tier can do that. Sadly, it’s hard to land combos with the crouching attacks so they’re not valuable enough to make FlameCharmer good.
  • Ichigo – Ichigo should be a top tier character in the game because of the fact that he can use a sword and has reach. But compared to Swordsman, Ichigo doesn’t have that much combo potential to make him good. He does have a cool ultimate that lets him attack an entire arena, but it’s not enough to get him up there.

C Tier

  • Nanya – Nanya is a character that not a lot of people play. But from those who do play her, she’s painfully average. Almost like a second thought when being added to the game.
  • Yu Narukami – The guy from Persona 4 is not all that good compared to the other characters in the game. He feels a little slow and most of the times, often feels like a drag to play. He does have one of the coolest looking ultimates in the game, but it’s not enough to earn him a spot up higher.

That’s all you need to know about the tier list for Shonen Smash. Did this guide help you understand what you need to know about the best characters in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
