Lost Light is one of the new games to hit the western market in both PC and Mobile, and is a looter shooter akin to Escape From Tarkov with a bit of Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds sprinkled in. This is a game where you equip your character with weapons and armor and go into raids in hopes of finding materials and loot while there are other players in the area. You can take the scavenger route and go for just looting what you can or you can fight other players in hopes of getting their gear. In this guide we’ll show you the basics of Lost Light.
Complete Beginner’s Guide To Lost Light
So, in this game you’ll start with basic weapons, gear and items. Remember that when you go into a raid and you die there you will lose all of the items you’re carrying or have looted in that raid, always keep that in mind.
Starter Loot
The first raids you’ll get will always be against AI, they’re quite easy to take down and will give you a lot of loot. Use that to your advantage and get as much loot in these first matches as possible. Be careful though since even simple AI can kill you if you’re caught unaware.
Focus on getting items and weapons on your first raids, since there won’t be any players around you can relax a bit and learn the controls and map layouts.
Hoard Meds
Meds in this game is probably the most important items to keep a stock of at all times next to weapons. High medical items that can tend bleeding and broken bones are always valuable and you can never have too much of them. Prioritize getting these always, and keep an eye on them.
Level Up Storage
Storage space is the next thing you’ll be needing in this game. You can’t hoard weapons and medication without any storage after all! With these kinds of games most of the time you’ll be playing storage Tetris than anything else, so having a big storage always helps.
You can level up storage by clicking on the up arrow next to your storage level. Upgrading storage will need resources so keep those resources in mind.
Keep Those Rings
While raiding you might find these rings that can sell for a lot in the market. Don’t be fooled, keep a handful of them at the start and when you find them. These rings are actually used to upgrade your shop!
Shoot Marauders Avoid Players
You can tell which enemy is a marauder by their blue clothes and a distinct riot style helmet. These are AI controlled and pose not much a threat to you. If you see something else then that means it’s a player, as a beginner avoid them when you’re still learning the game.
Although there will be a certain point in the game where you will see player marauders, so keep that in mind and stay alert. You’ll easily remember how the AI moves and if they don’t move like one they’re probably a player.
Being A Marauder
At one point in the game, you can play as a Marauder, when you’re confirming your gear for the raid you can click on the button to the left to change to a Marauder.
Playing as a Marauder means you don’t get to choose your gear, but you can keep the gear you get and loot in a raid. Also remember that NPC Marauders won’t shoot you unless you shoot them first. When playing as a Marauder you’ll also start in the middle of an ongoing raid so keep that in mind.
